What is reloader 23 good for

A buddy of mine is cleaning house and has a bunch of reloader 23 he offered me. I’ve never used it and wasn’t sure what it’s good for and if I could use some of it?

My 300 H&H really likes it with 150s. Very similar to results in same rifle as IMR4831.

A 2nd newer lot is a bit lower in velocity at same charge weight, but still shoots well when brought up to speed.

RL-23 is fall back powder when I run out of RL-25 and H1000. In my 300WM. SD/ES/MV are all winner! However, with these times I see RL-23 is hit & miss with availability while writing off some powders completely.

Reloder(R) 23 is awesome! It was our second product in the TS family and is proving quite versatile in the faster end of the magnum range. It is probably the most used propellant in our Federal Custom Shop, where we use it in 6.5-284 Norma, 6.5 PRC, 7mm Rem SAUM, 280AI, 7mm Rem Mag and 300 Win Mag. Like all of the TS products, temp stability is outstanding, and you almost have to work at not getting low single digit velocity sd's and great accuracy.
Our only issue with TS 23 and all of our products is getting, packing and shipping enough to catch up with demand. I believe that will happen soon though, as long as eastern Europe stabilizes.
Good luck with your newfound treasure Matt_3479.
Shoot well,
Paul

I have been substituting RE23 for RE26 in most of my larger cartridges. RE26 has a reputation for causing pressure spikes when temperatures are in the upper 80s and above. It's also impossible to find. I've found that RE23 is very stable and produces very accurate ammo. There has been a modest reduction in velocity when switching from RE26 to RE23 but it's really not an issue for me.

I'd say that RE23 can be used in most applications that you would use H1000, another powder that's impossible to find.

While doing load development with RL23 and H4831 I found it to be considerably cooler burning than H4831. It’s my go to in my 6.5x55 Ackley.

300 wsm its magic with 180-210’s.
Also works very well in 257 roberts with 110-120’s.
Probably would also work well in 6mm remington but i havent tried it there. Im running low

Been waiting and watching quite a while now to try some in 260AI.
Any info on how it might compare with Norma MRP which has proven to work well?
