Thanks for the replies, it seems the general opinion is no bueno. I plan to clean the rifle, attached one of my known scopes, shoot small three shot groups and give it back with the proof. This is on a 6.5 x 55 Swede with a good quality sporter barrel. That's the reason for three shot groups.

I don't know if anyone had an interest in the outcome but here it is. I mounted a good quality scope that I knew was a real tracker. Sighted that old '96 6.5x55mm Swede in and put five shots in three quarters of an inch, much better than it has to be for deer. I used the 140 grain ELD Superformance from Hornady and this is the customer's round/bullet of choice.
He said he didn't understand why the "SWF" scope was having issues. I looked at the box and it has a four color picture of the scope with the crosshair/lightning bolt logo and it does say SWF. on the end are peel and stick labels with not much info, just the power range and an image of the BDC type recticle. The instructions that came with it were printed on a four color copying machine and definitely have Chinese verbage.
SWFA sells no such scope and their logo is a black eagle. I asked him where he got it............Amazon..
for 300.00 dollars. I hope he is able to get his money back. He is a nice enough person and I have done quite a bit of work for him. Not a young fellow, but another lesson learned.

Try Chinese knock-offs. Beware of Leupold Chinese knock-offs on eBay and I'm told they're doing nightforce copys as well.
