What I learned from my weekend shooting with Tubb

He has, two replaced knees. He's not going to be doing any running and shooting. And he's 62 now. Thats for the young guys.

Man can really shoot. And he's a genius engineer..

A few years ago he did try the running and gunning down at rifles only I believe. Didn’t do to bad for a guy with beat up knees

Always try something slower if you can’t get enough speed on the pressure curve. Personally I currently use 42.02gr of RL19 (about one notch slower than H4350 and RL17) and produce 3,230+ with the 6XC throated at close to magazine length in a 32” 5g Bartlein. Too much pressure without enough speed for this particular barrel with H4350 or H100v.

Can’t get anywhere near 3,150+ with my 243win but the XC case is pretty extraordinary - David did an awesome job with it and the DTAC. In the three barrels I’ve had in 6XC if H4350/RL17 is too hot it’ll shoot with either H100v or RL19. JMO

Good write-up my friend. Agree with Dusty, Tubb is top notch at the competitive games he’s chosen. Be interesting to see him shoot IBS, NBRSA, PPC/ISPC 3gun etc. be a curious expo

If you can't hit 3150 with a 243 then you either have a pretty short bbl, a slow bbl, or you need to look at other powders.

Keep shooting!
