what gives?

The barrel was fully broken in with 40 rounds prior to the load developement, afterwards i cleaned her spotless and then started the load developement but yeah I have yet to see accuracy suffer and she definately needs to be cleaned up. I will keep you all posted after i get her next to spotless.

Well i got her cleaned up pretty well and tried a few more loaded necksized once fired rounds, they all chambered better but still left a minute scuff like the one in the picture, just 1/3 as significant. There wasn't as much resistance either, no springy resistance anyways. Thinking i might have to have my gunsmith friend look her over. What do you all think?

I don't think having it inspected will hurt. At least you will have a better idea about what is marking the bullet if he bore scopes the barrel.

Seems as though something has to be a little off somewhere to get scuffs on the bullet.

Well i talked to my gunsmith and did what tried what he thought was the problem. So i took my full length die and turned it 4 full revolutions back just so it touches top end of the brass and i suppose bumped the shoulder back a bit, they not chamber much easier, a little resistance but it's about perfect. The scuff on the bullet disappeared as well so im guessing the cases stretched alot and were pushing the bullet farther into the lands then necessary.

Shot several groups too and they're all right around 1/2in when i do my part, got a nice group at 250yds that's at 1.1in too. So yes i guess it was the lands but it seems a bit weird that they would scuf the bullet like that and only on one side. All aside, thanks for the thoughts, comments and help everyone.

if you will just raise your expander in the die it will not punch out the primer. Set your full length die to hit the ram of your press this will size it to new factory size.
