What F-Class shoots are the best attended? The Pro Circuit?????

I have been shooting F-Class for a couple of years. I’m having a ton of fun and am looking down the road to retirement. What shoots should be on the list of great shoots with lots of solid competition.

Sort of the “Pro circuit” if there is/was that sort of thing. You know, the top 5 (pick a number) competitions in the country.

Good competition, well run event, and good company is what i think are important.

Thanks
Clay

One of my favorite Midrange matches to close with is the Louisiana State Midrange match. First weekend in October. It fills up fast and is stacked with competition.

I shot the Texas midrange match last year on the 2nd weekend in October. Thats another one with a really deep field.

Being smack in the middle of the midwest, its a long drive for most 1000yd matches. These are some of the matches/ranges on my bucket list:
Berger SWN- February
Reade Range Long Range Regional Championship
Camp Butner has a few options. NC State Fullbore, NC LR State
Texas TSRA LR Championship usually late April
Tn State Long Range- Labor day weekend

I would suggest two matches if your sick of the cold. Go to Florida and shoot the Orange Blossom Regional in February. The matches usually run for ten days and include F Class, XTC, Sniper, Vintage just to name some. bring the family they can go Disney World or the space center (both are close). Another great match is the Christmas X-Match held the week between Christmas and New Years. Again something for everyone.

Berger SW Nationals in Phoenix. (Best match in the country IMO) TOP level competition, great range, great friendly staff running it, great prize table, all the vendors there with products on display etc.

U.S. Nationals

All the different state championship matches i've shot, mid & long range have been great as well.

F class Nationals, If you shoot mid and long range is 8 days of shooting. Midwest Palma and Wi long range state, Its 7 days of long range shooting. Rocky Mountain Palma and Santa Fe Regional, Its 5 days of long range shooting. Berger Southwest, Its 1 day mid range and 4 days of long range. If you want to jump the border, Canadian F class Nationals. Spirit of America, Fullbore matches.

I’ve found with any activity that if you drive more than you stay then it’s more like work instead of fun. Keep the 2 proportional at the least...

I’m finally fixing to start making some bigger matches going to Raton next week for the Santa Fe Regional and shot the TSRA match earlier this year. Then on to nationals and hopefully get signed up for BSWN. I would also like to make some of the State Championship in other states next year. The one place I would love to see a big match put on is from the folks in Midland you talk about people standing around scratching their heads.

Thanks everyone
This is exactly what I’m looking for.

I’m signed up for the Santa FE LR Regional in a couple of weeks
Wyoming State LR Championship in Rawlins
And MR and LR at the Nationals in Raton.
I’ve already shot MR in Rexburg ID and a weekend MR and LR in Rawlins this year.

Win or loose, BSWN is my favorite. I also love shooting at Raton. Lodi usually kicks me hard, which sucks, cuz its my home range. Going to Canada is always fun also. Never did it but I hear Ireland is also fun. No good shooters in Texas so don't go there! Just kidding, any State championship will bring out all the local big guys, and will be fun. Wish I could shoot more of them. Someday Texas!

If your talking about the winds at West Texas Long Riange, yes they can be very interesting. When I shot there last year, the wind stayed from the same direction the entire time. However the let ups held the flags straight out, then they would pick up again. Still straight out! 2 feet of movement without a change in the flags.

Bob, come stay with me sometime. I can take you to West Texas on 4th Saturday, then Capitan on 1st Saturday. A couple of very interesting ranges.

Capitan will sure make you pick your nose and scratch your butt..... Watch out for the door to the target house, if you're taller than about 5' 8" these some ducking involved....
