what does it take to shoot 600 plus yards and win?

As far as scopes go, you can win at F Class with a $450 Sightron 36X. Everything else is basically a luxury with very little return on investment. Nobody at the top uses them, because they're annoying to operate for a few reasons, but there's nothing inherently wrong with their performance. That and F class guys seem to like spending money on nice stuff.

Great thread... I'm also from MI (Clarkston, about 30 min south of Flint) and would like to shoot 600 yards matches potentially. I just purchased a Savage in 6BR with a 1" McGowen barrel with 9 twist.

Right now I'm looking at bedding it into a Boyds stock. Probably do it myself but still open to having it done.

Have a Weaver Tactical scope or a Burris Veracity to use on the rifle.

600 yard f-class matches in Cadilac, Midland and Oscoda, Michigan. Come to a match and have some fun. You will get plenty of help getting started.

Please look at the link I posted on the 1st page. This is the compiled 2019 Michigan HP calendar. It contains matches across the state for 3 position High Power (reduced and full course), mid range (sling + F class) and long range (sling + f class). I will begin compiling the 2020 calendar once we begin firming up dates from the larger clubs and state association later this Fall.
