What do you guys think about a 6mmDasher

We have a 6mmDasher in the works. On one of our EmmaCreek BR match bench rest stocks. The action that we will be using is a chrome - moly HaverKamp model LV - 40 dual - port. Left - port right eject LPRE. Tom make's the finniest custom actions I think. Has any body ever tried Tom HaverKamps actions before ? The barrel that we use is a Lilja barrel 8 - Twist we plan on shooting the Sierra 95gr. boat - tails in it our reamer that we are using is a Dave Kiff PTG. Our reamer spec's that we are going to run on that 6Dasher is a .266 Chamber with .104 free - bore on it with a .2438 throat. Pictures will be coming soon.

HaverKamps are REALLY nice. And Tom is as good a fellow as there is. WD

First the best action is a straight one ……. glued and screwed together. I would pass on the 95 gr. bullets and go to the 103 -108 bullets and i would not use a free bore shorter than .135 and a free bore diameter of .2438. …… jim

I shoot 107 Sierras that usually shoot best at around a 30 thousand jump and a .135 freebore is ideal

What Jim said. He's one of the best if not the best Dasher guy out there.

I'd suggest the BIB 104 or the Hillbilly 104.

I've spoken to two friends this week, both dasher owners. One shoots 1000 yds.at Bodines on occasion and recently shot a 1/4 MOA at that distance, with the 105 hybrid Bergers. Both love them! Bet You will too!

We are experimenting with the 95gr. Sierra match king bullets on this 6 Dasher build. But on our next one we will be shooting some of 95gr. - 107gr. Sierra bullets. But mostly we will be shooting the 107gr match king bullets in it. Thanks for the recommendions on free bore. We will be sure to tell Dave Kiff at PTG to change our free bore to .135 on our new 6mmDasher reamer that we order from him to shoot the 103gr. - 108gr. bullets. Don't worry guys we will be posting pictures up right when we are done with it.

I too have been hearing from friends who shoot the 6Dasher @ 600yds+ -1k and am being told the Berger 105 Hybrids are the way to go. Might want to get hold of TonyR who I'm told has it locked in and has the particulars for winning comps up at Bridgeport. Just a thought.
