What do you do with used brass?

What do you do with your brass that you've shot all you want to? I have 6br brass that's been shot 8 times and I'm moving on to a new barrel and new brass. Primer pockets are still tight. Do I just pitch it or is there a market for it? If so, how much?

Recycle it. Last time I got 100 bucks for a 5 gallon bucket.

l just would recycle it, for one large cat litter pail l got 88 bucks, it 2 dollars buy me.

I usually just pitch it. I looked in to recycling, but the closest place that will pay for the used brass is a 2 hour drive. That negates any $$ that I would get for it. I wish I could recycle it reasonably.

I melt it down in a crucible to use for bolsters, guards, and butt caps when forging knives.
I have been known to scrounge the range as well.

Sell it to a metal recycler in Houston, don’t get a lot for it but it’s not much out of the way when I do it.

Range brass, as they call it, is selling for $2.36 a pound in Amarillo. I picked up 7.5 pounds of .223 Monday afternoon. Took all of 10 minutes. Last I sold was $1.75 a pound about 250 pounds worth, about 6 months ago. The most I have ever got for it is just over 3 bucks a pound.

I went with the new barrel new brass 2 yrs. Found myself with 400+ cases that didn't have a thing wrong with them.
and i got beat by many that don't buy new brass every year.
Decided to ultrasonic clean & anneal them all & use them.

So i suggest save them for later. You'll always have a choice.

I'm finding myself in the beginning stages of a powder change so I'll never know if it's the powder or the case.
Or maybe I'll actually win some more 5.oo plaques for the wall.

Buy your own reamer. If it’s Lapua, it would have lasted a few barrels.

You could always use it for setting up the annealer, making dummy rounds, etc.

its all money..that includes spent primers.
you decide when to stop using, but it all gets saved and sold as scrap

I keep USED brass until it is worn out. Then donate it to the local range, they sell it for scrap. Then they use the money to buy lunch for volunteer RSO.

Several years ago I called around to recycling places and no one would take brass! Told me afraid of a live primer.

Truly if it has the primer in it, it will only pay for dirty brass. Pop the primers it should be clean brass price. Not sure what the price per lb is right now.

Use the brass as fowlers for the new barrel.....at the very least.
