Why is all questionable gunsmith work blamed on rednecks?
The op self-identifies as a redneck. It's important to respect they's/them's wishes or whatever...

I was thinking drill and tap the receiver for a savage 110 mount, then add a 45 degree scope ring and attach a scope. It’ll only be held on with one base and ring though.I would take a piece of pipe of 1" ID, about four inches long, and split it lengthways. One half would be screwed to the receiver with 1/4x20 bolts. The other half would be flipped over and welded to the attached base. This piece would cradle the scope (it might be necessary to file out clearance for the turret) which would be held in place with a pair of (you guessed it) hose clamps. Not only would this hold the scope securely, the use of hose clamps fits in with the overall design theme. Keep in mind, you can't obstruct the passage of the bolt handle. Trem Clad rust paint isn't much different than ceracoating and would finish it off well. WH
Yep I like learning and tinkering, but I’m always on the safe side. The barrel was tacked in 12+ different spots, I think it’ll hold good. 7.62x39 is also not a whopper of a round either. Soon imma get some 115gr coated cast bullets through it.Experimentation is the key to learning, just be safe while doing it.
Now that’s real high quality right there, seems I need to up my game.View attachment 1343444
I got this pic off here years ago. It fits in with this post
