What distance do you practice at?

I think you are really asking 2 different questions. I do load work as rarely as possible as it is tedious and boring to me. I generally do it at 300 meters, as a club I belong to has a great electronic target system at that distance that makes it pretty painless. For 1000 yard competition loads I will try to verify the load at full distance before shooting a match with it if possible, but it doesn't always work out. Once I find a load I dont mess with it and i'll try to stick with it until it doesn't work anymore.

I do almost all of my practice at 10 meters.

We normally have two matches a month at Bayou in Houston. One long range and one mid range.

I consider every match as practice....

Load development and tuning at 300yds.

I've found, and this may just be me, if your load will hold good veritcal at 300 yds and your SDs are low, then it will hold vertical out to 1000yd.

I practice and do load development @300yds that's as far as my club has to shoot at after that I use shooter to figure bullet drop for when I shoot 600 and 1000 yd matches.

I wished I had a range out to 300-600, but I would be one of those people who tune in at 100-200 yards and shoot at the further distances.

You have had lots of good advice on tuning so I will address the practice. If at all possible try to shoot beyond your intended distance. One of the best things I have ever done for myself was to over train. This cleans up your gun handling.
