Today the grandson and i shot his Grendel and a couple of 9mm pistols. Happily, the rifle shot Hornady 123 gr factory, my 123 gr reloads, and my 100 gr Nosler BT reloads really well. No scope adjustment will be needed for hog hunting with any of the ammo. That’s unusual, in my experience, but a great result.

And we ran off a bunch of ammo in my Sig 365 X Macro and the Beretta PX4 full size. I shoot both equally well, but he Luuuvs the Beretta. I think he’s hinting, but I’m not dead yet, so he needs to be patient.

Loaded up some subsonic 308 loads for my AR10. Shot pretty well, changed out buffer weight and spring and adjusted gas block to get gun to cycle.

It's been 21/2 months with the forest closed to shooting due to the hot, windy and dry conditions. They just opened the forest again so went out, it's over 30 degrees cooler and overcast. 500 yards 10-15 mph out of the SW. Dialed in my dope and first shot was in the center of the bullseye. And kept them there or within less than 2" all morning even with shifting winds. I haven't had this much fun in a long time. 6.5 Creedmoor 41.5grs of IMR 4350 powder BR2 primers, Starline brass, Hornady 147 gr. ELDM bullets. 2770 fps. avg sd of 3 for 15 shots. Someone up there likes me today. I feel blessed.

2567 ave. fps for 223 with 75gr. Hornady HPBT bullets in AR 15 with an 18" barrel. ES. was 80. SD was not much better. Using 22 grs, of 4166 powder. Next load was Sierra 69gr. bullets using 24 grs. of IMR 4895 for 2832 fps and ES and SD were in the single digits. Now I remember why the loads with 4166 are way at the back of the safe. It didn't really shoot that bad compared to the numbers at 300 yards. But switched to the Sierra 69 gr. for 500 yards.
