What can cause loose primer pockets besides hot loads and too many reloadings?

That is a lot for one firing. I would guess you got real soft brass; a large chamber or you are too hot. Seeing you are getting that much expansion I would guess a large chamber at back end. Do they keep getting bigger on more firings? Matt

Not hot loads and Lapua brass so I guess it's the chamber. I sent off an email to the rifle manufacturer for comments.

I will measure again after the next firing.

I had primer pocket on the brain and you are right that is a lot of expansion.

Inadequate neck clearance will cause it as well as carbon build up.....even with light loads.

Tell me how you can produce an out of round chamber. I have machined a lot in 40+ years, but have not figured out how to machine an out of round hole.
I would say all that he has told us is a large chamber at the base of the cartridge.
