What Bushings

I just received a 6 Dasher,.269 neck) and 30 BR,standard Robinett) reamers from Pacific, but can only cut the chambers approx i month from now when I am in Cape Town.
I have also ordered Wilson dies for the 2 calibers, but do not know what neck bushings to order. I know I need a loaded round, which I do not have).
I will be using Lapua brass with an average neck thickness of .014" still to be turned.
Any suggestions on which bushings to order?
Bushings are not readily available over here and we wait approx 30-60 days from USA, thus I have to make up my mind now.
Your assistance will be appreciated

Chris,

In my straight 6BR .269 neck I have a .264, .265, .266 bushings.
I use the .265 mostly. Some of the 30BR guru's need to step in or e-mail Randy Robinette.

Hi

My Dasher is .265 chamber, turn to .263 and use a .261 bushing. This is heaps of neck tension, as you can not move the projectile at all.

I use a sinclair neck micrometer, which makes the process of neck turning a whole lot easier!

Also, it seems that a lot of other people use 0.002 tension as well!!

Cheers

Just getting the 30BR going myself at this point, so I don't have a lot of experience. All the advice I've gotten says the 30BR likes a lot neck tension, 0.004" under the loaded round size is where I'm experimenting with now.

My 30BR chamber is a 0.333", my loaded round after outside neck turning measures 0.331", so I'm using a 0.327" bushing. I think I'm thinking right, seems to work so far. I get a complete 360 degree cut when neck turning the Lapua 6mmBR expanded brass even at this. I am removing about 0.002-0.003" fron the neck. The smith says he cut my chamber with a Robinett reamer also.

The standard Robinett reamer is supposed to be 0.330". 0.330" - 0.002",for clearance) = 0.328", 0.328" -0.004",neck tension) = 0.324". So If you have a "standard" Robinett reamer, you probably want a 324, 325, and 326 bushings.

All depends on where your neck finishes out I guess.

I'm seating BIB 118 gr bullets by hand with a Wilson seater, takes a fair amount of downpressure. When the go in, they go in suddenly. I'm going to switch to an arbor press. They slid in with a 328 bushing and moderate pressure.

My 30Br has the standard reamer with .330 neck so my brass is turned to .328 outside dia which gives you a neck wall thickness of .010.
I use an .326 bushing and have a .325 one also but do not need it yet i seat the projectile .020 long chamber the round and see how much push back i get and thats where i seat my projectiles .015 into the lands and it is performing extremely well now. I find after fireing the necks spring back and need very little sizeing so should last a long time.

Have Just changed over scopes as i found my 36X Bosch & omb has finer adjustments so it is on the 30Br now used a shot saver to change over and was only 2 inches out and my new 115gr Projectiles seem to be working well.
Shot these without windflags.
