What bullet for coyotes?

Which bullet would be better for coyotes from a 6 BRA at around 2850fps? The 105g Berger Hybrid, 105g SMK, or 107g SMK?

If anyone has any experience with the above bullets on coyotes I'd love to hear about it. I'm currently using 108g ELDMs out of my BRA, haven't shot any dogs yet with it, but I know they work very well. However, my BRA doesn't really shoot them like a BRA should shoot, or will probably shoot a Berger/Sierra.

Are the 105 and 107 smks all closed nose? If so, wouldn't that limit their expansion characteristics?

I have a box of 500 105g hybrids already and contemplating buying a box of 500 105/107 sierras. I just am concerned about the closed nose and not opening up enough on coyotes.

Personally, I prefer the regular 105 Hunting VLD's in my 6x47 Lapuas, never tried the others you mentioned due to the satisfaction of the Bergers.

I also had great luck with the 95 Hunting VLD's out of my 6 Dashers, which will add about a 100 over the 105's.

I know people seem to worry about the closed nose, but I've had great results on coyotes with pointing my VLD's.

I know this isnt one of your choices, BUT, the 87 VMAX is EXTREMELY efficient at destroying coyotes!

It is a very good yote bullet. However I'm trying to get away with a dual purpose long range range 1K target/steel/coyote bullet.

The best I have found for this in a 6mm is the 108g ELDM, but my BRA doesn't really shoot them that great. My 6 Creed shoots them a lot better, but I sold that rifle to my dad to fund the BRA...

What combinations have you tried with the Hornaday 108 ELDM's? I ask because I'm just about out of Hornaday 105 Amax's for my 6br. I bought some Hornaday 108's to try.

All I've tried so far is H4895 and it's roughly 1/2 MOA. Tried a few different seating depths and 2 different lots of H4895. 1/2 MOA isn't horrible, it's just not shooting dots like a BRA normally does or should...It might tighten up a bit with my new Manners stock that's been professionally bedded. This was with an MPA chassy and I'm not a huge chassy fan. They just don't feel good or comfortable to me from a bench anyway. I'm use to A5s and A5 clones so hoping it might tighten up a little with a stock I'm familiar and comfortable with, that's also been bedded professionally.

This is 12 rounds @100 with the load I settled on. I'd like to see that cut in half with Bergers or Sierras...

My H4895 and IMR4895 loads with the Hornaday 105 Amax is 30.3 grs. My barrel is a 28" Criterion 7.5tw. I put it together for PRS and it's been popping pdogs also. Across the chronograph My numbers have consistently been SD4 and ES in the high teens. Accuracy was better than 1/2moa. Never did seating depth tests. I feel i could make it better but it's good enough for me. I took it to a 1000 yard f class match.....finished 3rd in winds 17-25 mph. The IMR load is 20 fps faster than the H4895 load but not quite as tight shooting. If my results didn't satisfy me I'd probably try another powder maybe even a primer.

The Berger 105 is .532, add 10% if you point them......

Yah the 108 ELDM is .535 and I don't want to be much lower than .525 for a long range 1K bullet.

Crazy to me how the 107 TMK is only .450 give or take. If it was up around the .525 area I'd definitely try it, but at .450 it's not worth it to me anyway.
