What Brand and Size Bore Brush for 6mm

I have tried bronze bore brushes from Brownells and Kleen Bore in my 6BR and .244 Rem. They seem extremely tight and the rod does all sorts of contortions under the required force. Both of these brands are marketed as .243/.257 diameter or caliber. It seems to me that they are too tight. Does anyone sell straight .243 diameter brushes? Thansk, Peter.

Go to Midway as they sell straight .243 brushes. I use the ones with the bronze centers and also use Montana Extreme nylon brushes as the copper solvents do not desolve them and they work great for cleaning the carbon fouling out of fired case necks before reloading without loosing their bristles.

The Iosso nylon brushes are also excellent. I use both Montana X-Treme and Iosso brushes on some of my barrels and can't decide which I like the best, but they are both far superior to any other brand of nylon brushes that I've ever used.

Just a couple of caveats about using nylon brushes -
1) They won't remove carbon deposits that have been caked on in the corners of the rifling grooves as well or as completely as bronze brushes will. When cleaning with a nylon brush I've sometimes followed up with a bronze brush and found additional carbon tracks on a clean patch at the end of a cleaning routine YMMV :)
2) Some, but certainly not all) barrelmakers do not recommend using nylon brushes in their barrels at all. It has beed claimed that hard nylon bristles are much harder than bronze bristles will actually scratch a finely hand lapped bore surface. I'm not taking sides, just reporting what I've been told by some top barrel makers "from the horses mouth".
