What bird is it?

Location: Wyoming: praire dog town.
Came in and fed on dead praire dog.
Large bird. White feathers on front neck chest and legs. Appears to have brown or dark feathers ( maybe dark brown) on back and wings.
Golden eagle?
Some type of hawk?

It's a Ferruginous Hawk.

Ferruginous won't have white leg feathers, but is the largest Wyoming hawk. Red tail would have white underside, dark back. But of course the tail is pretty noticeable.

They are very common in dog towns here in Montana during the summer months.
The prairie dogs will still be active when they are present.

That looks close but this one had darker feathers . This bird was very large( to me anyway) it was 325 yards away and wind was blowing so hard to get a clear look. He ate the heck out of a big dog that Dr Vmax had just made a house call.

It is probably not a Double Breasted Mattress Thrasher. I don't think they like PD's.
