Terry at 600yds I cant tell any difference. At 1000 Both of the 7.5 I have done better then the 8taltom said:Larry,
Did you notice any difference in accuracy of the 8 twist versus 7.5 twist barrels? Getting ready to order a new barrel for my Dasher.
Thanks,
Terry

My 30" Bartlein shoots 10 - 12 fps faster with the SAME load than my 28" Krieger. I mean same case, primer, bullet, powder, seating depth etc.
Now the Bartlein is 7 1/2 twist and the Krieger is an 8" twist. Both are Dashers.
All 4 have 30'' barrels with the exact same load Both the 8 twist are 12 FPS faster then the 7.5 twist
When I had a 28'' it was 30FPS slower them the 30 ''. Larry

The conditions at our range changes from summer to winter Summer like now because of the gulf stream our winds are from behind or southern direction Winter they change to the north direction.. the 7.5 twist had less vertical in both . I will not build another 8 for that reason. The 7.5 shoots at 300 also. Last month my son won the Dirty Bird 300 yd winning both group and score A week later his son won small group single and total.
Two different distance two different shooter and the same results .The gun has a 7.5 twist.. So my answer is yes a 7.5 is better. The 7.5 is 12' slower also. Larry

The 28" seems to be the sweet spot for dasher accuracy. Order a 4 groove 31" Krieger, cut 1" off the breech and 2" off the muzzle. 1" is not enough to clean up the bell from the lap. I have not seen a Bartlien shoot as good as a Krieger in that particular cartridge/bore.
