What barrel lube after cleaning

What lube do you use after cleaning your barrel?

I have been putting a Kroil patch down after cleaning and then dry patching before shooting. I seem to be getting more copper fouling after shooting than I think I should on fairly new barrels in good condition. Thinking of switching to some other lube or some solid lubricant like lockeese. Your experience greatly appreciated.

I use lockeze or Montana bore conditioner

I use BoreTech products. They "claim" that it provides short term bore protection. If I intend to use the rifle again in the near future, I just run a few dry patches down the bore when I'm done cleaning. If the rifle will be sitting for a while, I run 2 patches of Break-Free CLP down followed by 2 dry patches.

None of my clean bore shots are very far off from the subsequent groups but I normally consider that it takes 3 shots to settle a freshly cleaned barrel.

I have a questions. Whose guns are exposed to anything even remotely close to a corrosion test which I think involves a salt spray? Then again, we live in the Nanny State. Nothing wrong with knowing and using what is best but I doubt it is seldom remotely nessecary. I think if you have been involved in the shooting sports for 10 or more years with no issues.....whatever your using works fine.

If I'm putting a gun away for the season, It's patched with MMO.
Other then that, I use no lube at all !!......I clean the rifle prior to a
match, then final patch out of bore and chamber is with a mix of
acetone and alcohol. I want absolutely no trace of lube in my bore
prior to firing my foulers.
By degreasing the bore as you say, what do you think happens when that first bullet goes down the bbl? Copper fouling starts and builds up fast.
I proved on target at 1000yds my 1st shot will be about 1moa low, the following shots are on target. I wouldnt shoot for record without a few fouling shots anyhow.
Ask a barrel mfg about degreasing a barrel prior to shooting.
