It's kinda of funny -- when I quit drinking, I lost interest in watching football. Matter of fact, when I quit drinking I lost interest in 90% of the stupid stuff I used to do. And I swear to you that as drunk and stupid as I used to get, I could never have been wasted enough to enjoy anything like that abomination of a half time show -- or that idiotic rendition of our national anthem. jd

Yes. After Nelson DeMille’s passing, I returned to my history books.
Until I decide to re-read “Up Country “ for the 10th time!
The book actually was an older Demille. The Quest. After so many years and so many other books, I get a little hazy about the story line and reread them. They’re better than most new books coming out.

The first half was bad..... then it got infinitely worse... they brought out the half**s time show
Yeah no doubt, we really only planned to watch the game for the commercials as none of us have followed football for decades. Lets see...

Commercials: 99% targeted at one ethnicity
Half-time show: WTH?
luckily food was done about 10min into it so we just muted it and enjoyed something worthwhile.
Second half: finally a little action.

Overall the game and watching the Eagles show their talent was well worth seeing. The #1 receiver on the 'why are they in the Super Bowl" team was the highlight for that side, he can catch.

In the end, should have reloaded and went to the range... and unless there's some huge change in the media and entertainment that indicates there's more than one race in the USA we won't waste our time watching the Super Bowl next year. They can continue to market to the same ones they are now and see how well that works out for them.

Speaking of food, no pics but the meat was both hot and buffalo legs on the Traeger. Yummee

Exactly why I couldn’t watch it this year!

“Word of Honor “ is superb. Excellent education in military justice for what can happen to officers after (years) they are no longer serving. Typical DeMille…you can’t put it down.

Wow!

At the 67th Grammy Awards, Lamar won five Grammys, including best music video, best rap performance, best rap song, song of the year and record of the year, all for his hit "Not Like Us."

Do you really believe “the ghetto” is why Kendrick Lamar won those Grammys?
Yes, if Beyonce won country singer of year

Funny! I quit drinking once and found myself unable to bbq. So I started again

So I have not watched football since I was in 8th grade and Terry Bradshaw was passing to Lynn Swann and John Stalworth, defended by Mean Joe Greene and Jack Lambert (real football). Even then, I would have rather played the game (even tag) than watch it, or even worse, collect football or baseball cards.

Having said that, I celebrated my birthday yesterday by cooking dinner for some guests who also don't follow football.
We had baked potatoes, NY strip, scallops with white wine and Tony Chachere's dusting, boiled shrimp in beer and Old bay seasoning, steamed broccoli, and a salad made with Boston lettuce covered with thinly sliced romaine, sprigs of spring mix lettuce, spinach, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and a slice of Evercrisp apple, topped with either sweet onion or poppyseed dressing. Washed it down with Bully Hill Special Reserve or Bully Hill Goat White.

As I write this, I am "relishing" the fact that the punk Mahone's was shellacked. In my mind he is the epitome of the schoolyard wise ass punk who just needs his head shoved up his rear and then kicked around the yard like a soccer ball. To toast his butt kicking, I am eating a roast beef on Kimmelweck with a light horseradish and mayo sandwich, with a stiff cup of coffee, hazelnut cream.

In my world, the next sport season is groundhog season....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Worst rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner I ever heard. If you want to hear the best, Google Whitney Houston's version. No one has or ever will beat hers.
I’m the least musically inclined person there is. Probably doesn’t help that I’m deaf, however at Trump’s inauguration Christopher Macchio was the best I ever heard

Against Diversity. Against Equity. Against Inclusion. And America claims to be a God fearing nation.

May be a different planet. Definitely a different God. Or I should, in this case, say god.
