What are you serving at your Super Bowl party?

Brother's birthday is at the end of January, so we celebrate it on
Superbowl Sunday every year. This year it's Porterhouse with onion
and mushrooms, and quantities of that hop flavored beverage. I
heard there maybe some apple cobbler at half time.

Go Eagles......

I’ll be out looking for arrowheads with my wife, we usually stop mid day and pull a cast iron skillet out and fry up some lunch, it’ll be Coues deer back straps this time, pretty simple, flour, salt and pepper. Easy clean up.

I stopped watching the NBA and the NFL years ago, haven’t missed either. I had season tickets when the Suns played the Bulls for a championship, the golden age of the NBA imo, that and the Bird & Magic era. I had a lot of fun watching the NFL from the mid seventies when I was kid all the way up to the Montana days. It just isn’t the same to me, these athletes have made it a “all about me” game. I still watch some college ball where true team rivals still exist but thats it for this kid.

My 22lr test lots are late arriving so I need to test them Sunday morning. My wife coordinates the finger food for the game but I know it will involve chicken and stuffed jalapeños. I remember the first superbowl, haven't missed one, and don't plan to. But I don't remember the last time I watched a halftime debacle! After this a bit of college basketball will be it until the next football season.

I’m making a ton of Korean BBQ wings (12 packs that usually have 12 drummettes) and Baklava for dessert. The wings are a Cook’s Country recipe. I’ve made them many times. The Baklava is an Alton Brown recipe. He uses almonds, pistachios, and walnuts. I use almonds, pecans, and black walnuts. I’ll make two. One will get lemon zest and a little lemon juice in the syrup. I tried that once and it was really good. This was going to be for a buddy’s party at his house. I wanted to make a couple of other party foods, but we found out that a bar near his house is having a potluck. More food, less cooking, no cleanup. Sounds pretty good to me. I’ll post pics when the food is done.
My wife (German) mentioned it a day ago and told me that she doesn't really know what the Super Bowl is exactly, and asked me when it is. I didn't know and said that I suppose it is soon. So, to answer the question, we aren't serving anything at our Super Bowl party, because we aren't having one, nor are we going to one and we are not watching the Super Bowl (whenever it is, exactly).

I’m making spaghetti for the wife and I.
I’ll watch a bit of it hoping Philly kicks their ass. Halftime show is some Rap Crap that I don’t care for at all…The boys are having a snowmobile ride on the mountain and a bon fire on the property.

Going primal - sardines on Crackers and Maker's Mark. o_O

PS: Expecting an ice storm here into Sunday AM so we may have power outages. Plan B - Re-read "Six Guns" by Elmer Keith under a Coleman lamp. Maybe that will turn into Plan A - instead of watching the money grab / greedy NFL.

Years ago I tried to host a SB party. Food, appetizers, sweets was set, my wife did a great job. Friends showed up, we had drinks, appetizers lots of laughter.... let's turn the TV on.
...... Oops he TV don't work.

They watched it on my laptop. That was my SB party.

Now nobody invites me either. I think thet are still mad at me.
