what are the benefits of FL sizing or bumping the shoulder back?

Do you have the proper tool to measure shoulder bump, and have you done this before? What kind of die will you be using?

I have an rcbs headspace gauge and I have a complete set of redding type s bushing dies..

I was able to set it to bump .002...can't seem to bump .001. Getting the hang of how much lube to use...

I pronounce you good to go. One of the issues with trying to hit a consistent small bump is uniformity of factory annealing. This can be particularly problematic with cases that have thick shoulders. A friend ended up getting a rotary annealer to deal with that specific issue, and it improved the situation a lot. He was loading 7mm WSM and .338 Lapua.
