What are most reliable, precise and reasonably cost conscious tools to measure primer pocket depth and uniform them?

Thinking about starting to measure primer pocket depths then uniform my 30BR primer pockets; at least to test if this will improve precision on target. What are the most reliable, precise and reasonably cost conscious tools to measure primer pocket depth then uniform the depth?
 
Since you are cost sensitive, as am I, I'll break from the pack and observe that a standard machinist depth gauge does exactly the same thing as the above tool. Go to shars.com and you'll find something for a lot less money that will work just fine if not better, just be sure that the probe diameter is small enough to fit in the primer hole. You can also use the back end of a standard caliper but a real depth gauge will give more consistent results. I just use a standard hand held primer hole cleaning tool (mine's made by Lyman I think) but I put one of those bushings on the bit that's made for putting onto a drill bit to control depth of cut, probably available at your local hardware store. It won't impress anyone but it works.
 
I use "Hollands". Initial depth checks I use a Starrett depth gage
from one of my Kennedy's.......Note.....take 5 cases and swipe the
bases across some crocus cloth to make sure they are flat. You
don't want to measure depth if you have a rolled over rim edge,
or any other sort of damage or dings.....

I think the Holland is great. It cleans/cuts the pocket to the exact same depth every time and I use it between most firings to clean and track changes in pocket depth.

I use a 21st. Century uniformer set at .126 to just touch the bottoms and lightly clean the carbon out of the pockets on my bra however for the nationals I reframed from even cleaning pockets and went straight to tuning and loading as they were, with no detectable lack in performance.
So I guess the bottom line mirrors Jackie’s question to why mess with them at all ?
