What aftermarket barrel for a 17 hornet?

If that 527 isnt bedded thats were I would begin. Out of the 6 I have everyone shot better after I bedded then

Bedded and free floated, Carson Lilja said today he would leave it be , he thinks the factory barrel shoots great, that group was 0.5 moa @ 100 in high wind or measured exactly 1/2 inch from shot to shot.

Problem is I don't reload and probably won't anytime soon, I've secured 1000 rds. all 20 grain, not missing any varmints but anxious to try a different barrel.

I put a Lilja on mine and would do again as my first choice. Another person said you couldn't expect to get the best potential using factory ammo. I can attest that after putting on my Lilja tube - and my gunsmith keeping free bore to an absolute minimum with Hornady ammo - it shoots Hornady ammo very well - even unleaded. May not be as good as my tuned loads - but most people would be pretty happy with it, I'm sure.

I have a Lilja barrel on #1 Ruger, the factory ammo is shooting better than my reloads. BUT, because of limited brass availability I haven't been able to work up a good load. The gun and I shoot mog (minute of gopher) but not those nice 1 hole groups. I've thought about re-chambering to 17 Fireball, BUT, brass availability is still a problem. Fortunately I have other gopher guns, ammo and components. I have a willing to trade 204 R brass for 17 HH in the classifieds.

I noticed my 17 HH grouped a lot better when I had fired the brass and only neck sized. Went from 1- 1 1/4 moa to 5/8-3/4 moa without any fine tuning of powder, bullet oal, etc.

You need to test neck turning to 0.010.
You'll see a big difference in group size.

Love my CZ , but am looking at an aftermarket barrel to squeeze all the potential I can out of the round. here's what it can do on a windy day at 100 yards, wind gusts of 15 to 20 mph.
I'm looking at three manufacturers as many don't do a 17 caliber, potentially here's where I'm looking.Lilja, Shilen, Green Mountain Pac- Nor so far they show they make barrels for it. It took three shots to get in the black, I quit after that way too windy, Kelblys range in Dalton Ohio.The three shots in the diamond were all shot in sequence. 20 grain Hornady.
