What Action Is This Stock For?

Remington bottom metal appears to fit the screw holes, but the angle on the front obviously doesn't work.

It has a Remington recoil pad that it as hard as a rock.

The bottom metal doesn't decide what action it is for.

Has the stock been previously inletted. If not, then you may have to do some work to make things fit, but you have to make sure the ACTION fits first.

Depending on what you consider a good looking inlet, 700 bottom metal can be challenging and requires the action to be secured and fit before you tackle the bottom metal. And I wouldn't do it without the use of long 1/4 X 28 screws to position the bottom metal as you inlet it.

The only R700 short action I have access to has a varmint barrel so I can't test the top.

What really throws me is the angle on the front screw on the bottom which makes me wonder if this is not an R700 stock, since clearly the bottom metal doesn't fit other than the hole spacing.

Does someone sell a stock where the top inlet is finished but the bottom must be milled to fit?

Looks like a straight bolt slot, not for the angled 700 style bolt.

Yeah...maybe... but the front isn’t cut deep enough for any metal I’ve seen. I think it’s still raw.

That stock was a rough inlet, if you look the bolt handle slot isn't finished either, its square and has a 90* horizontal flat. Or it could be for some off brand and the bottom metal was a thin sheet metal blind magazine making it like an ADL.

I might even make it a 40x or a bdl according to what i needed!
