What about the Badger Action???

Hey guys,, you don't here much about the Badger action.. If I'm not mistaken it's an Accuracy International clone with 3 lugs and 60 degree bolt throw.. Everyone that's handled an AI rifle can speak of the quality behind this style of action.. I'm guessing the Badger has this same quality? Would anybody know? What's your experience with the Badger action?? The bulkiness of it compared to 700's and it's flat shape for bedding seems this action would make a great piece to support a nice heavy barrel... What have ya'll heard about the Badger and why don't you here many people talking about it?? Thanks....

Not a fan of actions where the bold handle looks like a bent nail. :D

I would totally replace the bolt handle.. Then check the trueness.. Beadblast, polish down, acetone, Cerakote, cook... Thought about screwing some neat caliber into it plus make it a switch barrel..

To give a more serious answer, you should go over and look at the discussions about these over on Snipers Hide. Lots more info there than will be found here. I remember that the first generation of them had some issues, don't recall what they were.

I was giving one serious consideration but decided to go with a sako trg. Everything I read says the bolt lift is very hard. Plus it's one of those parts that can get a custom started off in the o crap. I built it with everything I wanted but now it weighs 20lbs. This site hates on over built tactical style equipment.

The AI action has a stiff bolt lift but once it's put in motion it roles on over to the 60 degree pull back spot.. It feels very nice.. I was hoping the Badger feels the same???
