What 204 Ruger Rifle shall I buy ?

I have a Savage mod 12 FCV, with DBM, accutrigger and accustock. 26" fluted barrel.. Shoots little bitty groups. I am selling it to buy a CZ.. Why you ask. I need a cannon carriage to move the thing around..

As well as my Savage shoots, I really don't need to carry it anywhere.

My buddy had a cz varmint in .204 that shot 40 gr vmax factory ammo into a 1" group at 200 yards. We had maybe 8 shots through the gun and it did that.

I'll be the odd duck, an AR15 with a 24" or 26" barrel. I'd go no slower than 1:10 twist for 40gr and heavier pills. ARS have lower recoil by nature of direct impingement gas system. Put an adjustable gas block on it and really tune it down to barely cycle. I love my 24" .20P upper, I swap it between my prone match lower or a weighted A2 Service Rifle lower. If you want to shoot from bags, there are lots of options for stocks and bag rider attachments on round hand guards.

I am not a Savage person at all but I do own a Savage VLP in 204. I have since put it into a BVSS stock. It has shot beyond my expectations since the day it was new. It has been one of those rifles that seems to shoot any load well. My only word of advice would be not to buy the Rifle Basix SAV-2 trigger for it, like I did. I have never been able to get it to safely adjust down to anywhere near its advertised pull weight. Wish I had just left the Accu-Trigger in it. Its a Savage, and its ugly, but damn does it shoot well.
