WFT trimmer vs. PMA trimmer

Somebody recently posted asking about a trimmer that will trim off the shoulder, but that was not a tri way trimmer. Just flat, as to chamfer and debur after. I am curious myself. I found the WFT II and the PMA. They both look like quality pieces. And if you buy the WFT II with aftermarket carbide cutter and the correct pilot, it is the same exact price as the PMA. Has anybody tried both? Or can review either one? Want to know if they are up to benchrest standards and have case to case accuracy.

thank you

The WFT II and the PMA both trim very well, but chamfering and deburring afterwards is still required. If you're looking for something like a Tri-Way, you should take a close look at the Trim-It II as adjustment of the cutter is much easier than the Tri-Way trimmer and like the Tri-Way the Trim-It II indexes of the shoulder.

I just got a WFT 2 with 3 inserts. .223, 6br and 6.5x47L. I am very happy with it. I've only used it during 2 reloading sessions. Pros and cons so far:
Pro:
It was easy to set up the length. I used a case that exactly the length I wanted.

Inserts are easy to install and remove. I use a little sizing wax to aid insertion.

Easy to use. You can feel the cutting, when it stops you're done with that piece.

Accurate, very consistent trim length, case to case, once you get the hang of it.

Fast

Does not leave a "lip" on the case mouth.

Cons:
Deburr and chamfer are separate operations. For me, this is not a big deal. I like to deburr and chamfer by hand.

I have been using the WFT for a year now. I love it. I didn't buy the new one with inserts because I'm too lazy to reset it for each caliber. I have it for .223, 6.5 CM and 308. So far it's stayed sharp and gives precise OAL.

I use the WFT no insert version for 20 P and 6x45, have one for each as I'm too lazy to reset for the different brass.

I like the pma. Its easy to adjust and you can share inserts between many different cases. What about those little crow trimmers? I had one of those before and it seemed to work ok too

I have a WFT and Black Widow. The WFT trims great but you have to chamfer and debur as stated above. The black widow I could never set up properly and sat in a box. After a while I ended up with a giraud which I personally love.
