Wet tumble problem

I use 1/4 teaspoon of Lemishine per 1 pint of water. Soaks in an ultrasonic cleaner for 45 mins. then into a bucket of plain water to "stop" the Lemishine cleaning. Too much Lemishine or left in the water too long and you'll get pink brass.

Started wet tumbling with dawn and lemeshine and brass is coming out gold color? What am I doing wrong?
Been a while since I tumbled brass. Getting to messed up to get out and shoot. My Harbor Freight Rock Tumbler probably held a little over a qt. of water. I don't think I ever put more than a little more of a level tea spoon of Lemi-Shine in it. I never measured it. I just dumped a small amount in. Never had any problems.

Brass mfg also appears to be a contributing factor.

When wet tumbling range brass for sorting it's not uncommon for a few to be off colored in a batch of several hundred.

White Gold is just super clean.

Rose Gold is too much lemishine. No big deal… load and shoot. Less Lemi when you tumble it again.

Black Oily is the only real issue/problem.
> Usually means that you accidentally included a lacquered steel case in with your brass. If this happens you will need to wipe down canister with soapy rags until totally clean, and then wash the steel pins (changing the soap and water frequently) until no more blackish residue. Now you get to repeat the process for the contaminated load of brass. There goes 2-4 unexpected hours of your day.

Time Saving Tip: Get a retractable magnet from Harbor Freight and run it through your brass before putting it in tumbler :)

I only wet tumble brass shot through suppressed rifles cause it's a mess at times. I pretty much use a half teaspoon of lemishine and a good car wash liquid with wax. Shiny brass and it works for me as good as dawn.

I don't clean unless its nasty range brass (been over a year). When I did clean, a pinch of lemi-shine and a small squirt of Dawn. Later I switched to a cap full of Citranox and it came out perfect every time.

I use a fires 45acp case with the primer still in it for my lemishine measuring cup. Works perfectly. The amount of Dawn is up to you depending on how dirty the brass is and how much you want to rinse. Half Dawn and half wash and wax works well.

Just ditch the Lemishine, it's totally unnecessary. When using hot water, even Dawn is unnecessary, if you change the water a couple times. In the beginning I used both, now I put about 5 drops of Dawn in with about 300 cases, tumble for an hour, change the water and run it another hour. Then I dry them, run them through the AMP, size them, rinse with hot water, dry again, chamfer and deburr, then load. Sounds like a lot, but it's a repeatable process that insures my brass is exactly the same, every time.

I gave up on wet tumbling and went back to sonic cleaning, in a commercial grade cleaner, except for one time range brass.

I always thought the peening on neck mouths could be removed via chamfering.

However I had one batch of freshly turned brass I wet tumbled to remove turning lube. I usually set the timer for 10 minutes and GTG for lube removal. This time I incorrectly set it for an hour and I could not remove the peening via chamfering.

I had to re-turn 500 necks to remove it. It was obvious, upon measurement, in the freshly turned brass, that the peening was past the chamfer.

When re-turning the necks there was a bright fresh cut above the chamfer for about .025- .050+/- ONLY IIRC....all with unchanged setting on K&M turner.
