Western South Dakota weather?

Can someone who lives there tell me what it’s like?
Humidity? Bugs? Wind? Weather overall in winter, etc...

The people that I work for are looking at a piece of property there. I left the Midwest 32 years ago, I do not like the bugs, humidity, and dreary gray breezy winters.

Where abouts in western South Dakota? I don’t live to far away. Winters can be a touch rank at times. Depending where you are headin wind can be fairly rank. Bugs are fairly thick most places to. Exactly where would help.

My grandparents lived off Nemo road in the hills west of Rapid city for years. I’d give anything to live there.

I just delivered two Wagyu bulls there yesterday. I live in south eastern Montana winters can be rough summers can be hot and dry. Hay no place is perfect ! You couldn't drag me out of here, love it .

It's a relative thing. Only 1 state over but the winter weather in SW South Dakota is much nicer than our NW Minnesota. South Dakota is a Red State with a Solid republican Governor. She's a "Babe" too

My plan to move there from the hell called CA, when I retire in a few years. Don't worry, my political views are right of Pat Buchanon and I have owned property there for 15 years. I love the area around and including Rapid City.

The truth is that the people are great, the bugs bad, the winters are cold, the snow gets deep, very firearm friendly, excellent outdoor recreation, low taxes. The southern hills around Hot Springs and Custer are really nice during the summer and fall.
