Western Canada F-Class Championship, Calgary Alberta

I thought I would post this info for any shooters interested in making the treck to just west of Calgary for the 2nd annual Prairie Gunwords Defense Technologies Industries, Western Canada F-Class Championships. This is a DCRA Sanctioned match over 3 days at 800 and 900M (Roughly 900 and 1000 yards)

2011 Western Canada F-Class Championship

The Alberta Fullbore Rifle Association of the Alberta Provincial Rifle Association (APRA), in conjunction with PGW Defence Technologies Inc., is pleased to host the second annual Western Canada F-Class Championship on July 1 - 3, 2011 at the APRA Homestead Range, west of Calgary, Alberta.

This is a Regional match sanctioned by the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association (DCRA).

Registration: The maximum number of entries is limited to 54 competitors. There must be 20 competitors registered by May 15, 2011 for this match to proceed. In the event of cancellation all registrants will receive a full refund.

Match fee is $300.00 - this includes paid target pullers, one BBQ ticket, one match shirt, applicable prizes and awards.

Classes of Rifle: Two separate rifle classes are recognized under the rules of this match, F-Open (F-O) and F-Restricted (F-TR). In general, they are:

• F-O: any caliber up to and including 8mm and the overall weight must not exceed 10 kg including all attachments (such as sights and bipod). This is shot from a bipod or pedestal rest.

• F-TR:.223/5.56 or .308/7.62 calibers only. The overall weight must not exceed 8.25 kg including all attachments (such as sights and bipod). Pedestal rests are not permitted (F-F is not recognized at this event).

Schedule & Course of Fire: 150 rounds on score plus 20 convertible sighters. Course of fire is based upon three squadded relays of three grouped shooters per relay alternating shot for shot (Bisley Style) per target on six target frames.

Obtunded..... good luck in your Western Canadians. I will be in Ottawa for the Eastern Canadians the same weekend. Won`t hijack your post by going into the Eastern details.

Suffice it to say that Canadian F Class is growing at a steady pace. When I look back at our progress at the Provincial and National levels over the past 5 years one can only speculate where we will be 5 years from now.
