government does not have access to the database, only health care personel.

LOL that is funny. I am sure your Gov has a few Doctors on the payrole. See how easy it is to get around it?

our government is elected every 4 years out of 8 different parties, we do not have any kind of military or government agencies resembling ATF, CIA, FBI, NSA or any of those kinds..

healthcare is free here so there is no reason for the government to look into hospital records

When you get to a question you are not comfortable with, write NA. It's that simple. Why are people in this country so freaking paranoid?

dansig,
Your statements have peaked my curosity, nothing is free! I believe what you think is free, you are actually paying for through the taxes you pay, for property tax ,sales tax, VAT tax, or some other mechanisim that in reality is a tax. There are no free lunches. What is the tax rate in your country, and I would place a wager that your government has convinced you by some means or method of advertising that your not paying anything for your health care. I am not trying to start an argument, but someone has to pay the Doctors, Nurses, and other health care proffessonals, even if they are Govt. employees they still get paid, and that my friend comes out of your country's tax pocketbook, which is collected from you!

The healthcare system is paid for with the taxes, but everyone is entitled to the same service regardless of income or amount of money in the wallet.

Income tax is 20-25% and then there is 10% tax for the city one lives in.

dansig,
That sounds fair to me, if you figure min 30%-35% max that is something I could live with. Like you pointed out you don't have a bunch of other govt intervention like ATF, NEA, Energy Dept, EPA, so that keeps your tax's lower. The only thing that would be tough would be your long cold winter, I suspect it has 3 seasons July, August, and Winter! Have a great day.

It's a bunch of horse crap. I am 1 to let things run their course and try to eat very healthy. I ended up in the hospital a few months back for a severe infection that i let go thinking i would get better. Anyhow, i had many follow ups and it is like they lose all your info everytime you go. They need this and that and need to know more than i know of myself. If you would have to go to see your regular doctor and it is more than a sneeze they have to refer you to see someone else. If you have good health insurance all they want to do is say you need to have all this stuff done and shuffle you around so they can milk your health insurance for as much as they can. It is a scam and they know it. They are no different than the thieves in our goverment.

I guess Mayo Clinic (Roch., Mn.) isn't up on all this. I've been over there quite a bit last few months and never had the Gun or Depression question asked.

I always answer no to those personal intrusion questions. My dr said that what we all say & I dont blame them.

actually this "winter" has been a mixture of fall and spring, we had snow for a few days but mostly it's been rain...

the past week it's been +8 C here in Iceland while it's been snowing and freezing temperatures in Europe.

the winter part is mainly lack of sunlight, in december we have 3 hours of daylight and 21 hours of dusk, but in june there is no dusk only 24hours of daylight.

snow and cold weathers do come here, but are mostly on the north and east coast, the capital Reykjavik is on the southwest coast and here we are rarely affected by winter weathers.

I just retired from 34 years of Criminal and Civil invetigations of Medicaid and Medicare providers. Part of the HealthCare Afordability Act is to require medical providers to convert all their documentation to electronic format (computerize). Now when the government serves a Healthcare Subpoena, Grand Jury Subpoena, Search Warrant, or Consent Search, we the Government can get the records faster, more accurately, and with less disruption to the provider. Computer programs are written to search, query, and filter the records. Since providers are required to document services for reimbursement purposes I beleive the government is slipping in these questions about mental health and firearms for future undisclosed purposes.

Example:
In 2006 North Carolina had a mental health Medicaid reform. A program was started called Community Support Services. It required a Mental Health Diagnosis to Qualify. It was a greatly abused program. Many parents saw this as a government funded child sitter service. What they did not realize there child was identified/labeled with a mental health diagnosis. That diagnosis went into the government computer systems. Now when those children grow up a mental health diagnosis, and that diagnosis raises its uguly head when they apply for the military, lawenforcement jobs, government contractor jobs etc. I can also see the government use those records to prevent someone as an adult, with a childhood mental health diagnosis to purchase and/or posses firearms.

There are many attacts against our civil liberties that are going on in the background. It is frightening to me the way our political leader are becoming more and more Macivalian(sp).

Fellas don't read into this too deep! My wife is the Ambulatory Coordinator for the EMR, Electronic Medical Records, for a large local health care system. The whole EMR has been coming for some time but our ever controlling Govn't has decided to make it madatory by a certain date to start using the system of the providers choice. There are basic EMR's in use that aren't compatible with anything outside the hospital itself, so unless Washington is coming to the hospital to read some records don't worry! Now like the system my wife oversee's it's quite diverse. The nurse is not correct in that the Govn't can just see your records. The only thing the Govn't will see is what is reported to them. Like necchi said "don't get down on the doctors". There have been Dr.'s quit, get fired or you name it over this whole EMR requirement. Alot of time they're not too well received. Some hate it some love it. Hospitals get kick backs from the Govn't for proving how efficient and implimented a system is. Like 7+ figure kick backs!
I would like to correct your statement regarding funding for medical services provided and paid for by the U.S. Government. There are NO "kickbacks" as you put it coming from the government. The absolute maximum that a hospital can receive in payment is 100% of a set fee for any given procedure. If the hospital doesn't toe the line and do what the government demnads, that 100% figure is reduced to 99% or less. In some cases, depending on how much importance is put on collecting and reporting data, the reimbursement can be far less than 100%. In other words, the government is saying, "you have earned this money but we are going to hold some percentage of it back until you give us what we want". The hospitals have to earn the same money twice. Once when they provide the service and once when they satisfy the governments demands for information.

I remember the Watergate Hearings of the Mid Seventies, -----I don't recall---------worked well in the Senate, could possibly work in this current enviroment.

Bill and Hillary like this one along with many other politicians.

They now have suddenly remembered so they could accurately write their memoirs. Bills was $16 million, Hillary about 1/2 that, as I recall. I am not even a lwayer.

I was told today by a retired Naval aviator that he has been informed that if his VA medical record has any mention of depression, his concealed weapon permit will be revoked!
Those of you that harbor any doubts that Obama and his minions are vehemently anti-gun had better reconsider your position, and aggressively defend the Second Amendment's future in my opinion!

... Well, I guess that is a typically testy question, but that she understands, but that with a child she just wanted me to make sure that we had gun locks, a gun cabinet, or better yet a safe that our child couldn't access without us around. I think in that situation, in hindsight, is a very relevant question at a peditricians office. ...
Do doctors asked if you have household cleaners locked? Pools fenced off? Prescription drugs safely stored? Sharped object like kitchen knifes out of the way, etc, etc?
No, the firearm question is politically motivated.

My guess is that EVERYONE pays this rate. You don't have 47% of the population getting a free ride...or BETTER. I know people who get back DOUBLE what they have withheld in taxes. it has even happend to me more than once. I would way rather of had a good year and paid taxes!!

The flat tax.......bring it on!!!

I will be going in for my 3 month checkup next week, I'll see what they ask me!!
