Ok,It’s been a frustrating season, and now I’m waiting for my classification card to show up in the mail. I dropped down a class. Now what? Start drinking? Start practicing for next year? Or take up a new hobby? LOL
this cannot happen. either you misunderstood your previous classification or did not have one. Please post pics of your cards

You talkin' to me?, YOU TALKIN' TO ME!!??..... I don't see anyone else here so you must be talking to me!!!

:D:D:D

I'm glad they didn't bust me down the way this past year or so has gone....
Actually, I was referring to myself; I have no clue what you have been doing.

And if you don't see anyone else here, maybe you have vision problems.

It was fun seeing you at TSRA last week.

Classifications can go down technically, albeit difficult if you show up to a match once a year that's eligible to turn in scores.

Still didn't answer the question.
How did yiu drop down a class and getting a new card?
Did you request it
Shooting F-class, my average this season is below the High Master percentage that I attained last year, so the card mailed to me this year will say “Master” on it instead. Or am I misunderstanding something?

And I doubt you will get a new card

nope. Once HM, always HM. (note as said above mid range and Long range are separate classifications)

In any case, NRA is not going to send a new classification card.
As others have mentioned, it's a one way 'ratchet' - only goes up.

Have a beer, prop up your feet play with the kids and get ready for next year. Shit happens.

It is possible to lose an NRA classification if one does not fire a match in a given discipline for three years. I lost my F-Class LR classification for just that reason, because the nearest 1000 yd matches to me are around 7-8 hours driving time and I simply haven't been sufficiently motivated to attend one in some time. Thus, the next time I do participate in an LR F-Class match, I will do so as "Master/Unclassified" until I have fired at least 120 rounds in LR within a 3 year period.

For the OP - the simplest solution if, in fact, you actually did drop down in classification:

Practice ;)

You had a goal. You got high master and the goal was to keep it. Not suck and move down then say" oh lookie, I can set the goal to be a high master again."
Thanks for your reply Sanora, and welcome to our site. Let me clue you in on something about this site that sets it apart for many others. We all are passionate about this sport here and try to help Eachother whenever we can. Support Eachother doing something we love, and for the most part we all get along pretty well. We try to refrain from giving snotty answers or showing unnecessary aggression. I think if you interact with us with that attitude and mindset, you will have a much better time and will be more productive than most other sites. Once again, thanks for your input, and welcome.
