Well it finally happened

1CB1AD1B-35A9-45E9-80BC-470478E7C88B.jpeg I’m not a big fan of Hornady brass but some became available and too easy and cheap to turn down and During fire forming every shot had a stiff boltlift only at the very top as far as extraction something that’s never happened to me in seven years when resizing they were very hard to go up in my body die which is never happened either and on number 12 it finally happened and one got stuck luckily I have a tap and bolts and cobbled together my own case extractor Also it’s a known load and there were zero pressure signs

I’ve never been a fan this brass just kind of jumped out at me so I tried it but I won’t bother again as a matter of fact I haven’t opened the second box of 50 I’ll probably just return them after sizing this time I see Marks on the brass at the very base when I measured above the extractor groove it is .001 larger than Lapua or norma brass

338, no comment on the Hornady brass, but is that a HF desk? I've been thinking of one for a reloading setup.
The vise on one end is actually very useful I do not have to mount my trimmer or my neck turner to the desk and it constantly be in the way I screw them to a block of 2 x 4 when I want to use them I simply put them in the vise and clamp down on the 2 x 4

Welcome to the club of “Really weird stuff is happening”.
Recently I was working up some loads for a 6br. I started way below max for my bullet and powder and my second shot froze the bolt?!?! WTF!?!
I really think the Universe is “folding”, strange things are happening, and we need to be extra careful!

Speaking of weird stuff...my normal load pierced a primer this morning.....first ever. @ joshb
However its a new action and may need a new firing pin spring or ( Pin & spring) .??
New to me used Panda action.

Only time I had cases giving me a hard time coming out of the resizing die is when I didn't use enough lube.

Since I started using Hornady 1-shot case lube, all cases glide in and out of the die like butter. No effort whatsoever required on my end. I set them up exactly as per the instructions on the 1-shot case lube can.

You know that’s what I’ve been using for a couple years now I’ve never had a problem with it until I tried Hornady brass I’ve never had a problem with extraction either I purposely didn’t say anything about what lube i use because of the haters but it works for me being as I had problems extracting them from the chamber and die and the base being .001 larger than norma or Lapua I’m blaming the brass

I tried Hornady brass for my ppc, thinking I would save on fire forming Lapua 220 russian. They were so soft, I had very hard bolt lift. I was using the exact same load that was fine with Lapua 220 russian. I will never use Hornady again.

Is this a new die or one that you have been using for a while?

Only thing new is the brass that’s a same set up and processes I’ve been using for years you left the range and I was shooting and having problems with extraction every round when I got home they were annealed at the range and during the sizing process they were a little tight after the one broke I measured the bases and they are .001 larger than the Lapua and Norma that have been reloaded many times this was a new brass just fire formed that day

The reason I asked is because I just got a new die and it was extremely hard to break in.

It seems odd to me that if the brass is soft, it was shot in your chamber which I know isn't over sized and you annealed it that it would be sticking in the die. Even sticking in the chamber seems odd to me if it isn't being over pressured. But if it is the only thing changed it would seem that it has to be something to do with the brass.

There were no ejector swipes and I still had rounded edges on my primers and it chambered fine and after I resized them they chamber again just fine but I took fired brass and tried to chamber it and again I didn’t force it and it would not completely chamber
