Took about a year to get all the "stuff" for it but its done now! It took a bit longer to smith because the Badg. ordn. recoil lug had to be back ordered but my gunsmith got her done in two weeks after he got it,pays to have a retired gunsmith:thumb:} I started breaking in the bbl this morning and she looks like a shooter, it was 10 below when I got started so I only got 15 through it before I quit...
That 7saum bucks pretty good for a 16lb gun, and man, she`s got power. I used a start load I got from one of our members of 64grs H1000 under a 162A-max w/ Fed210M prmr, come to find out, its the MAX! Had flat primers but no ejecter marks, I think its a good example to start low and work up. The cold weather might of had a part of the +presure too. I`ll see how fast she goes tommorrow maybee. Might drop it to 63gr too.
Heres what I got, blueprinted Rem 700 & fact. trigger worked to a crisp 23ozs, Mcswurly A5 stock, Broughnton 30"1:9 5c & B.O. 20moa rail. No NF yet but I but a POS banner scope on it to inspire me to get one
I will finally get to shoot F-class next year. I was able to find a few places that shoot in my area in WY. REALLY lookin forwards to that can of worms...
Thanks to all who gave me advice on this build, although I didnt follow all of it, I wound up with the gun I wanted and will use out in the field too. Heads up for all the "advice" I`m still going to need!
Thanks, patchhound.
