Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Hello everyone. I'm getting back into reloading after about 5 years of being too busy. Now that all the kids are gone, I'm getting set up in an empty bedroom. Sure beats the garage. This is a great forum and I've picked up a lot of good information a!ready.

Hey dude, I’m no reloading fundi but it sounds like your primer pockets may be wallowed out a little. If they are not nice and tight then the primer will do strange things.
Is it new brass from a decent manufacturer?

Just found this forum and signed up. Looks like lots of good info. I have just started reloading and am taking in all the info I can. I have reloaded 9mm since that is what I shoot the most. I am setup for .223 and 30.06 and will begin with that soon. Thanks for the info that has been shared and I am looking forward to reading more!

I have been recharging for 6 years and I hope to learn a lot in this forum.
I've been reading here for quite some time and the great knowledge that is here is incredible.

Hi there. I’m new to this forum and New to reloading, so please excuse a bit of newbie ignorance on my part.

I bought a Browning B78 in .25-06 and topped it off with new rings and a Leupold VXII 3x9x40. I couldn’t get any decent groups with factory rounds so I thought I’d try my hand at loading them myself.

I found that with Nosler brass (new), Winchester primers, 110gr Accubonds pushed by 49.0gr of IMR 4831 gave me awesome groups.

I’m using a Hornady Lock-N-Load Classic with their custom dies. I had previously loaded some 115gr NP’s at an OAL of 3.2”. I did not check the OAL of the 110gr Accubonds until AFTER I shot five five shot groups with different amounts of powder. These measure 3.114-3.116”. Now I’m worried this may be too much of a jump for the bullet or too much pressure. Cases show no signs of pressure at the mouth, shoulder, sidewalls or primer pockets. Am I messing up here? Can this cause erosion or other damage to my rifle?

Again, I apologize as I’m sure a few experts here will shake their heads in disbelief of this question.....but if you don’t know, you don’t know.

Thanks!!!

New member from Ohio here. Been reloading for about 6-7ish years, mainly bulk 9mm and .223. Recently been getting into more precision shooting and into my reloading and firearms more in general. I've learned SO MUCH from this forum over the years through google searches, and figured it was time to just join.

Thanks all!

New member from South Carolina. I’ve been tinkering with reloading for a few years now but nothing real serious. Over that time I spent more time collecting thousands of rounds of brass and reloading components including a lee turret press. Well I took the deep dive recently and bought the Lee Loadmaster press and several upgrades to go with it. It’s actually maxed out now. Anyway, I joined the forum to read, ask questions, and learn from you guys so I request you be patient with my newbie status and questions I may pose. I hope to learn a great lot from both the forum and the members.

Thanks for accepting my request to be a member.

The writer recently read that from a statistical point of view 10 shots are required to assess the true capabilities of a group. However those of us who shoot groups in the real world also have top take into consideration the weather, accumulation of combustion and copper in the barrel plus the speed of shooting. Surely these items will affect the result?

Referred to this forum by another member as an excellent source of information on hand loading.
I have only been rolling my own for about two years, mainly to keep expenses in line.
My shooting is recreational but I do strive for reasonable accuracy and 100% reliability.
Recently, I loaded some rounds to test an old M-44. Finally some rounds that are all the same!
Hoping to learn from the hive.

Good evening, all. I’m an avid shooter, hunter and handloader for the past 50+ years. Thoroughly enjoying an accurate rifle and handgun, I’ve just recently encountered problems bringing a newer rifle up to acceptable performance. Just about ready to ‘toss-in the towel’ on my 6.5 Creedmore, I decided to try lengthening the bullet jump. Contrary to my past experience, it worked wonderfully! Obviously, my old habits need some updating.
Browsing the different sites on-line, I found all of you fine folks here and thought I’d like to reap all the benefits of your experiences and knowledge.

Hi to all,
I am new to this forum and long time shooter, 50+ years. I started reloading with a single stage press about 15 years ago and moved to a Dillon Square Deal B progressive. I shoot mostly handguns and A/R's.
I do have a few reloading questions for the group, but will search before asking.
Have a great day and be safe.

New to the board and new to reloading. I'm a research nut before I purchase anything. Trying to find used but also been looking at the Hornady lock n load progressive and the Lee classic. got about a 500 budget for equipment. I know there are tons of different loaders out there, but want one that has parts that I that can get parts easily. Any sound advice I can get would be much appreciated.

Hello. I’d just started reloading the year; started out with .223. Now I’m venturing into pistol’s. I’ve been shooting for a couple years, but yet to go on a first hunt; I’m eager to try.
