Proud citizen of Alabama the Beautiful here,
looking to forward to sharing knowledge of reloading and good shooting tips.

Been reloading 7 years, mostly pistol, with 10mm dominating my activities the last 2 years.

Dear fellow shooters,

I’m a -67er but a newcomer to precision shooting. It all started with a big miss, actually some mags of misses on a blackbird in a tree top, one snowy cold January day in North of Sweden where I live. This was some ten years ago and the search for the reason got me hooked in precision shooting. A problem was an is the lack of mates with the same fascination in my region, the nearest range with precision shooting is a 2.5 hour drive and even further to a gunsmith but my English has become better by reading forums and books from Harrold R. Vaughn, Tony Boyer and Bryan Linz.

Since then it I have scratched on the art of reloading and gun work (not re barrelling). The beginning was with a T3 .308 in BR hunter class then I found an old, ugly 6PPC Hart that fulfilled two purposes, to test BR and secondly learn how a BR gun works by rebuild the old Hart to a 21th century rifle. Unfortunately BR is not for me but, my new step is F-class, I don´t mind to be called stupid for my choice, F-class is not even established in Sweden and in the land of 6.5x55 (and 6XC) I have chosen two T3s with Krieger barrels in 7 Saum and 7-08. The reason is the information top shooters in US, UK, NZ, OZ and other forums regarding F-class shares in detail.

This was a long thread but I want to acknowledge and lift the many contributors in this forum and say Thank You All. You have helped a lone but dedicated shooter to evolve.

Hello everyone, I’m Dan. As you can see from my tag line, I’m a retired Armor/Cav guy. I am new to reloading but not shooting. I cut my teeth on a 30/30 while hunting in my home of record in WY. I started shooting competition in NRA three position in HS and college and moved up to NM service rifle. Now I’m interested in loading for my Rem 700, in .223; 45-70; 9mm and .45 ACP. I recently started prepping some FC .223 brass. It is once fired and a mix of bulk plinking ammo and gold medal match. All had crimps and after reaming, the pockets all measure between .171 and .173. After reading nearly every post on .223 crimp removal, I’m almost afraid to use them. Flash hole on the bulk brass is sometimes off center.

Makes you a year older than me. Glad I’m not the only old newbie.

New to the Forum. Started reloading 25 years ago when I was 15 and too big to sit on my old Man's knee and watch anymore. I'm mostly a bolt action guy. Hunter and target shooter. I call BC Canada home.

Hi all. I've been reloading for about 2 years now, primarily 9mm for use in IDPA and USPSA. I also reload .308 Win, .223/5.56 and 6.5 Grendel.

On a side note, since the passing of the original developer of Reloader's WorkShop, I have decided to take it over in terms of maintenance and development. The software is now free of charge and I will have a new website up to download it.

I new to forums and computers I probley have parts of letter that went to the wrong places. I cant find them. I have been reloading about 2 years. I love it. I reload 375 Max and 308 my max is the best. Has anyone loaded the max with ar-comp or do you think that powder is to slow burning. I have loaded with 2400 and win. 296 with 180 gr. Hor. 35 cal..358". I use the AR-COMP for the 308. I hope this go to the right place.

Hello all...
not new to forums, just a new member here. Certainly not new to shooting, reloading, customizing rifles. Been doing it for 50+yrs.
Hope to meet alot of good people here, and i hope to learn some new things along the way. Even a 70yr old can learn something new.
Shooting and reloading is my passion, and has been my main hobby all my life. I caught this disease as a kid, and they never found a cure for me.

I will forewarn you, i usually have more questions rather than answers though...lol. This old dog is always eager to learn some new tricks.

I own and shoot anything from a good ole .22 rifle all the way up to the heavy magnums.
My favorite to shoot is the good ole 22-250. Turned alotta dirt red over the years in the back pastures. (Hence - RED DIRT)
First 22-250 i owned (many decades ago) put alotta ditch grizzlies down. One shot, one kill. Farthest one i ever shot was 600yds.
Barrel erosion finally forced the retirement of the ole boy, so i bought a new 22-250 the other day.

My new born, is a Howa 22-250 Heavy Barrel.
The barrel is the 24in - 1/12 twist barrel - I set up the trigger to break at 2lbs.
I`ve not shot it yet, but "HOWIE" is cleaned up and ready to go smoke some sight-in paper targets.
I bought some PPU ammo for it to break in the barrel. Topped off with a 4x16x50 scope i had laying around.
I know i`m leaving some meat on the table, but considering i`m old, and i dont see well anymore, this new rifle will do me just fine, hopefully.

Once i get the first 20rds down the pipe and break in the barrel, i`ll be lookin at taking some ditch grizzles (wood chucks) out around here.

Fellow hog hunter, welcome aboard! You'll find many whistle pig hunters posting stories and photos in the varmint and hunting forum. Good luck with the new rifle.

Good morning everyone.

I'm new to this forum because of a new rifle I recently bought. My Marlin 336 30-30 XLR is the 1st Lever Gun I have ever owned. I also own a Ruger 30.06. I want to have a 25.06 built for some Long-range shooting, Hunting and Paper. I have reloaded several times for the 30.06 and will for the 30-30 and the 25.06 when it is in my hands. I'm not a competition shooter. I just like shooting and Hunting, and being in Deer Camp with Family and Friends. I look forward to getting answers to the many questions that I'm certain will arise as I learn more about the Reloading and Building a Precision Rifle.

Thank you,

Perry

Welcome to the forum Perry.

The 25-06' is a great cartridge, but bullet selection leaves it breathless beyond 500 yards (compared to other cartridges that shoot higher BC bullets). But out to 500 yards it's a laser. The quarter bore bullet selection has very little high ballistic coefficient bullets to choose from (due to factory barrel twist rate being too slow). So for those 25 cal Long Range capable bullets you need a barrel with a faster twist rate than factory built guns are offered in.
I personally would be happy with the standard 10" twist barrel for the 25-06' since there are a handful good hunting bullet options that will hold their own out to 500 yards.

Hi All,

Long time hunter, sallbore shooter, IHMSA pistol shooter here in New Zealand.
Been reloading for 45+ years and don't know buggar all it seems.
Amazing journey from loading hunting loads for rifles where 1" at 100 yds three shot groups was considered good enough for everything from close up bush work to open tops Thar & Chamois hunting at longer distances ( aghh the inexperience of youth) to IHMSA 200yd pistol shooting where 3" x 3" 200yd ten shot groups with open sights was enough to my next challenge of F-Class shooting. I am re-learning everything about reloading.

Sold my pistols, my progressive press all my cast bullet parapheanlia (?) numerous molds and die sets to concentrate on two calibers, 6mmBR & 284 Winchester currently. Back to an Arbor press and Wilsons dies to hopefully improve my loads. Never thought I would ever be measuring perfectly good SMK's and batching them by ogive length. Even have my brother building me an induction annealing machine currently.

Isn't life meant to get easier as you get older?

Hello everyone.

I've been reloading since 2011 for .45ACP, 9mm, .223 and .300BLK. Within the last year I added .224 Valkyrie to that list and last month added 6.5 Creedmoor as well. I've been using a Dillon 550 that I got one of those "once in a lifetime" deals on, but have now taken the plunge into the rabbit hole that is handloading. I've started neck turning and using Wilson/Sinclair seaters with an arbor press for the Valkyrie and Creedmoor. I'm waiting on an Auto Throw/Auto Trickler setup to arrive and have a Forster Co-Ax arriving today.

I've been lurking here for a while and finally joined. Lots of incredible information here! Looking forward to being more interactive with you all.
