Weight variances with nosler ballistic tips

Last summer I traded for some 22 cal 55 gr ballistic tips w/c. I was told they were not 2nds or blems. These had some weight ranges from 54.8 - 55.3. One I weighed was 54- an extreme outlier. Most of the 40-50 were in the 54.85- 55.15 range.

I have a different batch without the cannelure same 55 gr. The handful I weighed were 54.9- 55.28. Also not blems or 2nds.

Opened a box of 250 not blems or 2nds and weights were in line with the others. .3-.4 disparity.

I haven't really weighed many bullets in the past just to see or check. I was surprised to see how much of a variance there was in weights with the ballistic tips I have.
I say this as I have RMR 69 bthp and the majority are within .1 of each other.

My question- is this normal with ballistic tips or am I naive in thinking they should look more like the 69 rmrs- in regards to consistency or tolerances?
These are varmint hunting bullets but for the price seems they could be better in terms of weights- I could be completely wrong as I have little to compare it to other than rmrs.

Look for to hearing what others have to say.
Thanks

I have used both their 50 and 55 grain BT bullets for many years for varmint and predator hunting. However, I never weighed them, not once so I can't comment on the weight variance.

However, for a precision hunting bullet, I have found them to be outstanding both accuracy wise and in terminal performance even though, in my opinion, they are overpriced. I have frequently checked the ogive dimensions and they do vary a few thousands which doesn't surprise me nor affect my reloading of these bullets since I seat well off the lands.

Bottom line is I think they are excellent for their intended purpose, i.e., hunting. There are not "target" grade bullets.

Their "blems" aren't really, I've bought, and shot, a lot of them. Nosler's own words...

Nosler blems (short for blemished) or “seconds” are bullets, brass, and ammunition that doesn’t meet the Nosler standard for cosmetic perfection. These products must still meet the same performance standards for safety, reliability, accuracy, and terminal performance as all other Nosler products. Blem products just don’t look quite as nice as first quality product.

I've purchased, and shot, a lot of their "blems" over the years. The vast majority looked and shot no different than first quality but I sure appreciated the "blem" price.

No experience with the lighter caliber/weight ballistic tips but the 125 gr. 30 cal. will shoot 5-shots @ 1/4 MOA or less at 100 yds. in my custom build Hunter Model 7 30BR.

Agreed. My swift shoot them well, I was just curious as never having weighed any before. I agree they are spending but sometimes can find them decent price on here. Not target bullets but I also am not shooting them 1k yards where varying fps would matter due to weight variance.

All must be 1st or really nice blems as all are nice and shiny. Tips look like they should as well.

Thanks for all the input
