WANTED Weaver t36 scope repair help

I bought a t36 Japan Weaver from here awhile back that will not track. I have tried Cheryl Ackerman and she can't do anything for it. Tried iron sight and they don't touch Japan made. Any repair facilities?

I’ll buy it for parts
Let me see if I find a repair place first. Looks brand new, not a flaw on it is the reason I'd like to get it fixed but might be a parts scope. If I don't find a place to fix this one I'll also have a like new t36 in perfect working order for sale. No need for me to have them if I can get them worked on if they malfunction. I'll definitely let you know

There should be a number somewhere in the paperwork that you can call. I’m not not sure who Weaver has partnered with, but I’m sure like most of the corporations they have merged.

They may not be able to fix it, but they will replace it more than likely…hopefully

I have been transfered around several times with them today on the phone. Nobody really seems to have an answer so I get transfered and put on hold for another 30 minutes.

Some people on here may not like this but owning a Weaver T36 is essentially like owning a potentially expensive paper weight. When I had a reticle break on a T36 Bushnell had nothing to offer in a comparable replacement so they sent me a late model XR24 which I sold to recoup my losses. Right or wrong right after this fiasco I dumped the other 6 T36 Weavers I had. So far Sightron has been the affordable option for me.

That's where I'm at now. I have a working t36 that will come up for sale after running into this I believe.

Don't get me wrong I loved my T36 Weavers until my reticle failure. When they are working they are certainly a great price point benchrest scope but I felt I could not risk another incident.

I don't think that this discussion is about the "old" Weaver T36 scopes, is it? Just wondering, because Cheryl Ackerman fixed my 1990's T36, last year (broken reticle). I have a T24 and a T36, from that era. Both are fine crosshair with 1/8 min dot, and both function flawlessly.
Am I behind times here, or are my scopes just a couple of rare exceptions?

She can do reticle work. She just told me she doesn't have parts or a way to fix the tracking issues. She was more than helpful and even gave me some places to call but I've struck out on anyone who can work on the tracking problem

I guess that I wasn't aware of any tracking issues with these scopes. In fact, the reason I have held onto them is because of the great tracking they have. Sounds as though this could be a future problem.

is this problem something that just happened? or are you trying the scope for the first time after it has been sitting somewhere for a long time?

did you try tapping lightly on the turrets? sometimes the erector can stick if the scope has been sitting and not been used for a while.

I had a Tasco scope with similar issues. I ended up sending it to Trace Scope Repair in Canada. He fixed it and was not overly expensive but there was freight both ways and it took at least 6 months to get it back. I ended up selling it in a package deal with a rifle. Couldn't find anyone in the states that would touch it. The freezing option might be the way to go but you still have to have a scopesmith. Good luck.
