WEAVER t36 question

I acquired an older weaver t36. i believe it has 1/4" clicks vs 1/8" clicks. Am I right on this? If so,, when did weaver make the change?
My scope does not have the locking ring on the front objective. The newer ones do. Anything you may add, would be appreciated.

So far as I know, the T36 has always had 1/8 clicks. I've been told that the T24 used to have 1/4 MOA clicks, but now has 1/8. I dunno when this changed. Both my T36 and T24 have 1/8.

260Ravage,

The Weaver T-Series were introduced in the latter half of the 70`s. (1977?)

To my knowledge, all of the early T-Series had 1/4 minute adjustments. I have a 10X and a 16X version from that time period. These are easily verified by the El Paso marking forward of the eyepiece lock ring and the non-locking objective. They were very popular for 500yd Silhouette matches due to the Micro-Trac adjustments. (You can ask David Tubb about it... ;))

The Micro-Trac feature in the current version is still a favored choice. We are most fortunate to have the 1/8 minute adjustment feature now, especially when used for F-class matches. The 1/4 minute adjustments will give you 2.5 inches of travel per click....for those that are hard holders, it can put you out of the now 5 inch X-ring at 1000yds depending on the conditions. I`m not in that group. To "borrow" a comment from a dedicated High Power shooter (Kevin Thomas)...I`m just a DATP ::)

HTH,

Scott

PS: I dug out my copy of Mr. Stroebel`s scope book and should include the following info from him. The T-Series were made from 1977 to 1984. The T-25 was made from 1979 to 1984...the T-30 was made from 1980 to 1984. He does not list adjustment values, but presume these were all 1/4 minute turrets. Easy to confirm this with a simple "box test" at 100 yards, familiar to many here and will consume but a few rounds to confirm the scopes adjustment value.
