Weaver T36 instructions needed

Hello all,

New to all this but learning. I pick up my very first centerfire Tuesday, a Savage 12FV in .223, and I recently bought a Weaver T36 from a nice guy on this forum. However, I don't have instructions and this is my first scope and I'm pretty clueless.

I've searched the Weaver site however I did not find instructions. So, if anyone knows where I can download the instructions I would appreciate it or perhaps instructions to a scope that is similar enough that I can decipher some of the posts in this forum. I've read a few however I'm not exactly sure which knobs are which etc.

Thanks in advance! Looking forward to punching some paper and shooting at a local "Varmint" match on the first Sunday of the month.

+1 I'm interested as I've never had official scope instruction.

I've got 2 T-36, good scopes, but a bit manual if you want to change distances often, good way to learn (like driving a manual car).

From what I've gleaned from years of shooting; mounting scope:

eye relief is very important, if you look through scope from too far away, move closer until "black circle" is just at its largest. Put scope there.

Cross-hair focus is next. Pointed at blank obscure color (sky, wall) in a safe manner. Blink often, and adjust focus (at rear) to have cross hairs (reticle) in focus. Use lock ring to keep it there.

Front objective lens is your focus/parallax. Windage and elevation knobs (careful they go 0-4-0 not 0-8, so check direction to turn often) are 1/8 minute adjustments. Adjust in direction you want bullet hole to go; ie I shot 1" to right of target, I move scope 1" left on scope (1minute at 100y).

Look up shoot the box, and checking scope mounting with a plumb line.

Ok just watched a couple YouTube videos and starting to understand it. Thanks for your help Mac, I still don't understand everything you wrote however I'll keep searching. I'd still like to find a PDF of the manual.

Any other questions you have you can post em here. One very important thing is adjusting parallax to your target and eyes at the time youre going to shoot. The yardage markers on the end bell are only a guesstimate

Thanks Dusty. Yes I could understand that the AO bell is a guesstimate because it goes from like 200 yards to infinity in a very short turn.

I am guessing the ring next to the AO bell is a lock ring?

Got my rifle yesterday, will be mounting the scope tonight (last night I had to ensure my hand load neck sized cases chambered correctly, then I loaded up some test loads).

Thanks everyone!
Michael
