Weaver style base for CZ-452 Lux and BBR

1. I am wanting to put Burris Signature Rings on a CZ-452 Lux 22 Mag,11mm dovetail, I believe). It appears to be necessary to use Signature Zee rings, and so get weaver-style bases for the CZ-452. I see CZ sell a weaver-style rail for CZ-452 11mm dovetail, so I guess I will go with that. Anyone see a better solution?

2. I see Weaver offer bases for the Browning Bolt Rifle. I heard a rumour years ago that Browning changed the upper surface of the BBR receiver during its years of manufacture and different bases were necessary, and that my BBR pre-dated these changes. Of course, the rumour could simply have been false. Anyone know anything about it?

I have a heavy barreled BBR in 7mm08 short action and have weaver 46 & 47 bases on it and they work ok out to 200yd,is all the distance i have)

here`s a little laugh for you...just noticed your in Australia my rifle came with a one piece base with rings and they were marked...ya ready for this...simmons Australia on it

What is your BBR's year of manufacture? The year codes can be looked up here
http://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/ctgy/browning-bbr-rifle-history

Looking at Weaver's base chart
http://www.weaver-mounts.com/charts/charts.aspx
for Browning again I see two entries for BBR, one listing the 47 as the rear base, the other listing the 45 as the rear base. The 45 seems to be the one for older models, but they don't mention which years.

What I will do when I order a bunch of stuff from The Optic Zone later on today is order both 45 and 47. I will actually get the Grand Slam S45 and S47, because it will see some match use. I will get the S402 front extension base as well in case the standard front base S46 isn't far enough forward.

Looking at the Wikipedia entry for New England, an interesting and appealing part of the world. Opposed to the 1812 war? Is this still a subject that is mentioned in America?

I will drop the Signature Rings for the CZ-452 Lux plan, and get Leupold Rimfire Ringmounts for 11mm dovetail. It is a pity Burris don't do a Signature Ring that goes straight on an 11mm dovetail,i.e. not Zee ring).

from the year codes my rifle was made in 1983

I did find entrys for the use of the #45 base on the brownells site =

BROWNING - BBR FN Mauser action. #45/45S: Rear; #46/46S: Front.

BROWNING - BBR long & short action. #47/47M/47S: Rear; #46/46M/46S: Front.

I would guess your doing the right thing by ordering all the diffrent bases...im sure one of them have to work

On that description, it would have to be the 47, because the gun is definitely not a Mauser action, and has 9 locking lugs that do not protrude past the diameter of the bolt. However Weaver's description of the uses of the 45 isn't clear, and might fit in with the rumour of older non-Mauser BBRs being different.

The BBR was a nice piece of work, wasn't it? I guess sales demanded a move to the A-Bolt, but I don't understand why someone would have wanted an A-Bolt when they could have had a BBR. The BBR being discontinued, if I was looking to replace my BBR with something similarly innovative, I would go with the Thomson Center Icon. This is after I have satisfied my need for a 2007 Savage Target Action-based rifle :-)
