Weaver Scopes in Past — what is Current equivalent?

When we were young…

a fixed-power Weaver was always a reasonable choice for any rifle.

A Weaver physically worked, it lasted a long time, and its price was not anything you had to justify in your own mind.

What is the “Weaver” scope of today ?

Sightron S1 although the Sightron is probably clearer. Bought my first Weaver K-4 in n 1966, I think my nephew is still hunting with it. I shot Weaver K-1.5's (still using two of them),.K-2.5's, K-3's, K-4's a V-4.5 and a KT-15 in the K-series.

Any low end scope from a major make probably equals or betters any of the K's

back then $500 was like $2k is now
I had Bausch and Lombs, they ran like $600-700 back then if I remember correctly, about the same price as a Leupold Fixed of the same Power etc.
I'd say today a Nightforce BR scope, Leupold etc.
I sold my 36x40's (Leupolds and B&L's) because newer stuff with larger objectives has a more forgiving eye box,
which may not be an Apples to Apples comparison because most have a 30mm tube also now
even a Japan Made Bushnell with at least a 50mm objective is just so much easier to get behind
for me anyway.
Sightron is great too
