Weaver Scope Warranty?

Has anyone here sent an old weaver in for repair/warranty with any success ?

I have an older 3x9x marksman , fine crosshair.
USA made.
It went south when on my mdl 43 22 hornet.
Tracking will no longer hold true.
I dont have the original box or receipt either.

Recently, a friend had a Weaver scope fail. He contacted Vista, who now owns the Weaver name, only to find out Weaver scopes are no longer in production and there is no factory support for repairs.
They did make it right but the replacement was from Bushnell. He was given an amount of credit toward Bushnell scopes and a website to purchase what he would want as replacement IIRC.

Thanks everyone, i would definitely like it repaired versus replaced as it definitely looks far more period correct on that old Winchester !!!!

You are likely better off by keeping an eye on Ebay for another Marksman scope. The El Paso Weaver Marksman was an entry level scope sold by Weaver near the end of their business and they do not have much in the way of value. If you choose to have it repaired you will end up with more money in it then it is worth.

Bushnell will not warranty an El Paso Weaver, nor will they send you a replacement scope. Weaver was not owned by Bushnell when the Marksman was being made. You will be out your shipping cost to Bushnell and shipping costs back to you if you want it returned. It is no different then Leupold buying the Redfield name but not servicing the older Denver Redfields.

Youll be getting a bushnell if you send it in
And likely a Banner series without asking. I had a Millet that they replaced with a Banner worth a fraction of what I paid for the Millet without asking me what I wanted to do. I would have been happier with a credit and then add a few bucks for something I really wanted.

I have a 7/8 tube Weaver that was purchase in the 80's and supposedly has a lifetime warranty. This was mounted on my 10-22. The cross hairs rotated. I sent it to Vista and they sent it back saying i could purchase a Bushnell at a discount, for $93. I am buying a Vortex.

Yes, aren't lifetime warranties just great!! I had a Leupold VX2, new, that would not hold POI right out of the box. I paid retail at Midway as I remember. I called Leupold and asked if I could trade it in for a VX-3i. They said sure. They gave me credit for my purchase price at retail then charged me the difference between that and full MSRP. I didn't feel too good about that. :( If there had been nothing wrong with the VX2 and all I wanted to do was upgrade, I can understand that. But, there wasn't. Oh well.

I think you will find that optical services co will not repair your Weaver scope. They will work on Weaver target scopes, but not the lower end hunting scopes. Like someone said keep an eye out on eBay and you will find one.
