Weaver scope question

i have a 2-7 redfield revolution which is quite blurry at 100 yards sighting in. How would a 2-8 grand slam compare to that and say a 2.5-8 leopold? The weaver is 260$ at Natchez. Thanks

The Weaver glass would be comparable to the Leupold. The Weavers aren’t being made anymore for the time being, so warranty work could be troublesome later on if needed.
I’ve had good luck with the Weavers on hunting rifles, sold all my Leupolds for NightForces.
YMMV

I like my GrandSlam better than sons Leupold. It is clearer.

When did Weaver stop making rifle scopes? Nikon did, but Weaver?????

Pretty sure that news came out last year.
Weaver Glass was good and adjustments were positive.
I have a couple of the Super Slams that are very nice.

Weaver is a brand owned by Vista Outdoors, who also owns Bushnell, Millett, Simmons, and Tasco. It appears Vista is consolidating their rifle scopes under the Bushnell brand?

Might have problems with warranty claims - like substitution of equal value but different use scope. I have had both, the Weaver 2-8 GS & 2.5-8 Leupold. My Weaver was one of the older ones with rubber power ring; it was clear but had a noticeable curved field (fish eye) @ 2X, the elevation & windage adjustments were exact & easy to use; a small Philipps screw driver is needed to index the adjustments; reticle /diopter focus superior to Leupold; ring mounting surfaces limited . I never liked those Weaver rubber rings. My feeling is the Leupold would cost more but but would be more satisfactory, especially considering maintenance & customer support.

I have 4 Weaver Grand Slam scopes one 4.5-14X40 & three 6-20X40's . I like them very much - tough durable scopes with equivalent optics as some of my Leupolds. The adjustments work well on all of the Weavers. Made in Japan.

The older 36xT weaver was hard to beat for the money!!Ive even used them to varmint hunt with lol.Might not been as bright as Leupold,nightforce,etc...but never had one that didnt track right. The sightron 36x's was right there with them though, maybe not as firm adjustments...That being said sure do hate that the weaver name is being fazed out.I sold my last two 36x weavers on here the other day and already regret it.Now Im needing something for another rifle I acquired :(,but will probably go with another brand now that they are going by the way side, unless I run across a very good deal..
