xhodzax,

I have had a few 36X, V16, and just got a V24, there are great scopes for the money. All tracking very well.

I use a T36 in 1,000yd F/TR and am very pleased with it. A friend who was the GB F/TR Champion a couple of seasons ago used a T24 and was equally happy.

They are light compared to a Nightforce and that can be a big plus if you're pushing the weight limit on the rifle and bipod.

The only snag I can think of with the 36 version is if the mirage is bad - you're stuck with that high magnification and can't turn it down unlike the Sightron and Nightforce variable users. However, mirage is less of a problem here in the UK than it will be for you or others in warmer climates. In fact, I went through the whole 2009 season and was never unduly troubled by it - but it was an unsually cool summer here even by our standards.

An old F/TR shooting friend never believed in variables until he emigrated to northern New Zealand. He told me afterwards that after he eventually got his rifles from the UK and entered his first long-range match he couldn't see the aiming mark because of mirage, and went straight out and bought a Nightforce afterwards.

Marks, I am thinking about the V 24 for my AR 15.

Laurie, did you read my reply on the other thread title 1000 yard something.

I want to shoot F TR this year they shoot on Thursday morning at 8:30 am the range is about 1 1/2 hours from me, going to need to get up at crack of dawn.

I have two 36x Weaver scopes that I have had on rifles for about eight years and never had a problem with them until I put them on a 30br, first one then the other gave up POI. Mind you that for eight years they were as solid as a rock. They are getting refurbished right now, sent them in to the warrenty place, no questions asked, just send $15 for return shipping and a note about the problem. I have a lens cap missing, and they said to mention which one and it would be on the scope when returned. I can't say enough about the Weavers, they are great scopes for the money, and the service is great.

Got both of my Weavers back from the fixit place both look like new, lenses cleaned new parts where needed plus a new lens cap that was lost. Also a little note of apology for the inconvience.
