Weaver repair

What I have seen on other forums is there is no more repair of Weaver. They will want to send you a new scope, and not necessarily one that does what you want it to do. I have read enough to exclude Bushnell from my scope purchase options....

They still repair them, just received a Weaver V24 I sent in . The address you send them to is Bushnell...which is part of Vista Outdoors . A huge group w/ labels like RCBS,Weaver,Bushnell,Hoppes,Savage, etc. .

Tommy, I sent a Weaver 36 BR scope in for repair, it goes to Bushnell. You have to contact Bushnell to get a return number. My scope was rendered un-repairable. They sent me a replacement scope from their line of scopes, none of them are BR scopes.

Bushnell does not have much in the way of parts, so likely it will not be returned.

As far as I know the warranty is how Wayne explained it.

Warranty through Bushnell and the other optics they own, there is no repair, just replacement.
And, from what I understand Weaver was direct competition to Bushnells new line, so Weaver is done.
I was always told in business, your competition kept you in business.........
I have been a big Bushnell user since they got their act together back in the 80’s when they were with Bausch & Lomb. They came on strong with some excellent ideas and improvements for 30+ years. Offering some excellent glass along with good value. Their offerings went from good budget glass to some of the top offerings.
Vortex and Sightron came on to the scene. I warned several folks that if Bushnell didn’t get their act together, they were going to get behind and never catch up. Look where the are now. Dropping some excellent Japanese glass and craftsmanship for China and Korea just to name a couple. Then the service center closed, literally putting all the repair parts in a scrap dumpster.

When I go to look at new optics I hardly give them a second look. Sad state of affairs.

So if you send in a t36 and it cant be repaired what do they send you- a 3x9x40 from a walmart bubble pack or one of their tactical type scopes?

Must be they saved some parts from the dumpster...or they lied to me about the repair they performed.

Watch and wait, the Weaver thing just happened. Got the same response when I told folks they replace instead of repair.
Dusty, they will send you what they deem an “equivalent”.

When I am minutes from the old service service center and have been friends with some that work there for years, I tend to believe them.
I loose zero sleep over the matter or other folks thoughts on it.
