Weaver repair

Howdy,
Have Weaver 4x16x42 that won't hold POI. Searching the forum was discouraging for good repair service. Call the gentlemen in Texas and they said they didn't repair the Japanese version. Do I have a tent stake? Anybody have good repair service in the last year?

rem40x, the last repair that I had done was by Meade Instruments out in California. Not a very pleasant ordeal but finally got it back. It worked fine after repairs was made.,would not hold POI either) I looked thru my old mail file for their number but could not find it. You might be able to get their number from their web-site. Bill
 
Meade no longer owns Weaver. ATK bought Weaver from Meade about 2 weeks ago. I don't know who you'd need to call at the moment. I imagine there's a lot of transitional craziness going on at Weaver right now.

Yep, sounds like it's a bad time to need a Weaver repaired. I know that is for the "birds". Oh well. Weaver today and who knows which one tomorrow? Bill
 
According to Weavers press release, ATK will be handling all their warranty work, for now. If your scope is out of warranty
and not an El Paso, there is another gentleman around,google)
that repairs newer Weavers as well as installs dots,etc.

I ran across this letter the other day that gives the new contact # for repairs and questions.

"Dear Folks,

I am happy to announce our divestiture of the Weaver Brand of Riflescopes, Binoculars and Spotting Scopes to Alliance Tech Systems, Inc,ATK), effective immediately. All inventory has been transferred and all calls regarding Weaver product should now go to ATK at 608.781.5800.


ATK will immediately assume all responsibility for the Weaver Brand, including shipments of orders and all customer service issues, including warranty and repairs. Orders that are in house but that haven’t been shipped yet have been transferred to ATK. All future orders will be shipped from ATK.

We at Meade feel this is a very positive development for ATK and for Meade Instruments, and we thank you all for your past loyalty and wish you the best with your future Weaver business.

Meade Instruments will continue to market the newly redesigned, forward technology Simmons Riflescope line and we rededicate ourselves to serving all of your Simmons Sport Optics needs.
