Well guys, it really looks like we must spend one to two hours a day running security checks. With up to 20 new sign-ups every day, even if I only spend 5 minutes per "applicant", that can be 100 minutes -- 1.7 hours. Every damn day.
When I find something suspicious, I try to drill down -- using security tools to find the guy's real address and multiple email address. Then we search for those emails across the web and in our own database. Confirmed a bad guy today from a report on another board with an email we found.
Again, bottom line for 1.5 hours/day (average) is 548 man-hours or 13 forty-hour weeks of labor. That's a little over three MONTHs of work. If I could find someone at $20/hour that's still nearly $11000. We are a long way from raising that cash.
