PLEASE READ We Need Your Support for Increased Security

I personally would like to see more effort given to fill out your profile. I'm not sure why it is so important to remain incognito. "Male" tells me nothing and and the level of trust has really fallen off. My history record doesn't seem to matter much. I have, on occasion, had a seller ship me an item priority mail and received it before my money even got to them. I will honor their trust.

Boss, I made a note to self to increase that monthly donation on Monday. Thanks for everything you do for us.

I never joined to sell or buy, mainly I like the knowledge base. When I recently renewed, I considered going to the Gold even though I don't use the classified. Guess I thought it to be a little pretentious to get the Gold with all the competition membership we have here.

Anyway, I stand corrected! For the good cause of keeping the scammers at Bay, when I renew I'll go Gold. Might even decide to buy something.

Just spent another half-hour going through registrations. We've subscribed to a service that lets us search on email addresses across multiple websites. Very powerful tool.

We are also exploring a commercial database of reported spammers. We did locate one bad guy today using that service. But this all takes time. It may take multiple tries to run down a bad guy.

Why not just hit "delete" and move on? Because they come back with a different name and different email. We try to record ALL the information we can find in a reasonable period of time. Then we confront the bad guys with their IP trace, email history, and (hopefully) tell them we know where they live, who they claim to be on Facebook, and what they just sold on eBay. The more we can find on a bad guy, the better we can discourage this kind of thing.

It would help a lot if folks used their real names along with city AND state. Somebody from oregon has no idea where “up in the hills” or the like is.
Why would we essentially want to publish a list of gun owners? An invitation to thieves! Agree profile should include city and state, but not members real name.

I missed something...I send $ as a personal check...to whom can I address one?
