Warranty?

What are accurate shooter readers take on this? Sent a spotting scope back with a loose lens still under warranty tho the scope was pretty old. Got back a brand new scope from a different maker that is significantly less expensive than the one I sent in. I now have a new scope but not sure how I feel about this.
any and all comments are welcome.

If it's not up to the quality of the original, I would feel shorted. A reputable manufacturer would give you a step up in quality at no cost to you.

I'm surprised they couldn't repair a loose lens and return the original. Even if the scope isn't in production. securing a lens is usually a bit of glue along with disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly. Was it a case of a multiplet disassembling itself, or was there additional damage?

I expect to get it repaired otherwise replaced with exact same model, if not in production, then a step higher of the same manufacturer.

Welcome to today's world. Companies aquire others and all bets are off. I had a pretty expensive Millet scope (lifetime warranty) that suddenly "whited out". By then Bushnell had taken over the company. Called them and they said to send scope and they would either fix it or replace it. Couple weeks went by and a package arrived. Opened it to find a new scope...but a cheap a$$ Bushnell Banner rather than the equivalent scope. Called and was pretty much told "tough".

Thanks for the the replies. After digging around, I think I pretty much found my answer. Vista Outdoors. My scope was not a high end model but I figured if they were going to send a replacement it would have been the same brand they still make which looks like mine and is the exact same size. Oh well time to move on.

Just a reminder:
When you include the warranty provisions when evaluating your purchase selection remember that a Lifetime Warranty is the lifetime of the seller's business model and has nothing to do with the buyer's lifetime.
